2016 MTV MOVIE AWARDS Livestream Details Announced

MTV today unveiled its livestream plans for the star-studded "2016 MTV Movie Awards," along with a first-ever co-viewing experience that will take fans beyond the TV screen and into an interactive world offering color commentary as the show unfolds from a variety of perspectives.

Saturday, April 9 - Tape Night

Kicking off the fan-first weekend, viewers can virtually crash the "2016 MTV Movie Awards" red carpet in real-time at movieawards.mtv.com and on the MTV app beginning at 8:00 p.m. ET/5:00 p.m. PT for an uncensored, fly-on-the-wall feed of all the red carpet hijinks and celebrity fashions. Later that night, the "Movie Awards" livestream will offer up an inside look at the super-secret show taping with a genius "reverse" camera trained on the celebrity attendees as they take in the nighttime spectacle of the show.

Sunday, April 10 - Premiere Night

Starting at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT on show night, MTV News correspondent Josh Horowitz will host the "2016 MTV Movie Awards" Pre-Show, which will give fans an exclusive insider look at the making of three highly-anticipated movies: Baywatch, Kong: Skull Island and Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets. Check out an exclusive visit to the Baywatch set where MTV checked in with "2016 MTV Movie Awards" host Dwayne Johnson along with stars Zac Efron and Priyanka Chopra, Alexandra Daddario, Jon Bass, Kelly Rohrbach and Ilfenesh Hadera. Josh will also highlight his trip to the set of the new Luc Besson film, Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, where he chatted with stars Cara Delevingne and Dane DeHaan. Finally, viewers will join Tom Hiddleston, Brie Larson, and Straight Outta Compton's Corey Hawkins and Jason Mitchell on a trip to Vietnam for an exclusive first look at the set of Kong: Skull Island.

The fans-forward co-viewing experience will launch at 7:30 p.m. ET/4:30 p.m. PT in conjunction with the "2016 MTV Movie Awards" Red Carpet Pre-Show and main show telecast. Putting fans in the driver's seat, the experience will allow viewers to toggle between the three special livestreams capturing real-time "couch-commentary" about what's happening on the "Movie Awards" stage.

The first couch will feature the siblings of the "Movie Awards" nominated The Wolfpack. On the second couch eccentric and fashionable octogenarian, Baddie Winkle will sit alongside ShopJeen Founders, Erin Yogasundram and Amelia Muqbel and comedian Brandon Wardell. The third couch will feature Youtube sensations Lilly Singh and Kingsley.

The "2016 MTV Movie Awards," hosted by Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, airs on Sunday, April 10 at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT from outdoors on the Warner Bros. backlot in Burbank, Calif.
