Los Angeles Convention Center to Light Towers Purple in Tribute to Prince
The towers will be lit starting tonight, Friday, April 22, at sunset and will stay purple for three days.
The L.A. LIVE campus will be transformed into a hue of purple as STAPLES Center will be lit in its iconic purple lights tonight as well, as the LA Kings play the San Jose Sharks in tonight's Game 5 of the first round of Stanley Cup Playoffs.
In addition to numerous GRAMMY Awards appearances, Prince appeared in concert on May 26 & 28, June 3 & 5, 2004 at STAPLES Center and made a special appearance at the Los Angeles Convention Center to present Barbra Streisand with the 2011 MusiCares Person of the Year Award.
On March 28, 2009, Prince performed at 3 separate L.A. LIVE venues in one night, starting at Nokia Theatre (now Microsoft Theater) at 7PM, Conga Room at 9PM and finished the night with a performance at Club Nokia (now The Novo presented by Microsoft) at 12:30AM.
