The choice is yours: Deutsche Grammophon & Decca ask for classical music lovers to vote for their favorite recordings of Mahler's symphonies and will then release "Mahler - The People's Edition" this fall. Deutsche Grammophon & Decca have opened the vaults (including a number of out-of-print titles) and offer all consumers the opportunity to stream, for free, the entire Mahler catalog and then vote for their favorite performances.

The Mahler 150 website, www.mahler150.com, is devoted to the composer and his music and offers full-track streaming of the complete Deutsche Grammophon and Decca Mahler catalogs - featuring some 180 symphony recordings - with integrated shop links for instant purchase. Additionally, the comprehensive out-of-print section of over 60 recordings includes important recordings that have become virtually unobtainable and legendary performances that are being made available for the first time in digital form via the DG Web Shop. (No purchase is necessary to enjoy the free streaming and to participate in the voting).

With no time limit on streaming or purchase necessary, the public is invited to listen as long as they desire and to then vote for their favorite recordings. Once the votes are tallied (voting ends September 15) the final set will be produced in a limited-edition run and made available this December. This unprecedented opportunity allows everyone to have a voice in the creation and programming of this unique and celebratory edition.

In addition to The People's Edition, Deutsche Grammophon and Decca continue the ongoing Mahler celebrations with new and catalog releases.
