On Tuesday, October 31st, Left Bank in NYC's West Village, will be turning off their lights and serving dinner to all guests by candlelight. The event is to celebrate their five-year anniversary and commemorate an unforgettable opening week in the midst of Hurricane Sandy. Despite losing power, chef and co-owner Laurence Edelman opened Left Bank's doors to the community for several days, serving up comforting dishes like jambalaya, steak sandwiches, and more to the hungry neighborhood.

The experience cemented Left Bank's status as a cornerstone of the West Village neighborhood, an accomplishment that still holds true five years later.

The celebration will showcase special menu items to recall that night in 2012, including jambalaya with shrimp, homemade sausage, chicken and crab, and a "Red Sky at Night" cocktail (whisky, rosé, allspice), among others.

Left Bank will be donating 10% of the restaurant's sales on the 31st to Best Friends Animal Society, an incredible no-kill animal rescue organization working tirelessly to #SaveThemAll right here in NYC, as well as on the ground in hurricane-stricken areas of country. (Added bonus: 10% of Left Bank's Monday night sales are also donated to BFAS, as part of their ongoing "Giving Mondays" charitable initiative.)
