Comedy Central favorite Pete Holmes makes it weird in the world premiere of PETE HOLMES: NICE TRY, THE DEVIL debuting tonight, May 12 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT.
A popular nightclub comedian in this dimension and a youth pastor in most others, Holmes brings his signature silliness as he contemplates "Juan winning one," the loneliness of making his bed, Ryan Gosling, the rapture and more. "Pete Holmes: Nice Try, The Devil" was taped in front of a live audience at The Moody Theater in Austin, TX. The "Pete Holmes: Nice Try, The Devil" extended and uncensored CD/DVD combo will be released on May 14 by Comedy Central Records, featuring material not seen in the broadcast. DVD bonus features include Holmes' episode of "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents," as well as his appearances on "John Oliver's New York Stand Up Show." "Pete Holmes: Nice Try, The Devil" will be available on May 14 in HD and SD on iTunes, Xbox Video, Amazon Instant Video and Sony Entertainment Network.
Leading up to the on-air premiere, the COMEDY CENTRAL Stand-Up Web site will feature preview clips from the special. Holmes will also engage with Comedy Central fans via a CC Tumblr "Ask a Professional Comedian" live event, and will live tweet the premiere of the special from @peteholmes. Holmes is a nationally touring stand-up comedian, actor, improviser, writer and cartoonist. His CD "Impregnated with Wonder," released by Comedy Central Records in 2011, Made several top comedy recording lists. He has appeared on "COMEDY CENTRAL Presents," as well as on COMEDY CENTRAL's "The Hot List," "John Oliver's New York Stand-Up Show," and "Mash Up." Holmes has written for and voices multiple characters on COMEDY CENTRAL's "Ugly Americans" and is The Voice and writer of the popular "E*Trade Baby" commercials.
