I AM GOING TO DIE (And All They Gave Me Were These Lousy Cupcakes), written by Lochlan MacLean and February Schneck and directed by Schneck, is a one-act play that explores death from two perspectives: that of someone facing their own mortality, and that of someone navigating grief. The play was conceived by MacLean following a terminal cancer diagnosis, built around a central character known as "The Figure" — a role that is reconstructed in every performance through collaboration between the actor and the audience, with Valeria Aceves stepping into that role for this run. After MacLean's passing, Schneck carried the work forward with the support of MacLean's community, developing it into its current form. LibLab Productions presents the piece as part of the Old Greeny Fringe Festival, following a national Fringe tour and an NYC premiere.
