already and not yet at Boston Symphony Orchestra

The Boston Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Kent Nagano, gives the world premiere of Tod Machover's new symphony about democracy in peril and the possibility of a stronger, more equitable future. The work is powered in part by a new, specially designed live AI system created with Machover's team at the MIT Media Lab. The symphony unfolds in three movements: a clash and crisis, an awakening, and an unfolding depiction of a future democracy. The premiere is presented in coordination with the MIT Media Lab's 40th Anniversary celebrations.
