Studio Theatre Worcester returns with Tracy Lett’s play The Minutes, a political comedy which was nominated for the 2022 Tony Award® for Best Play and was a Pulitzer Prize Finalist for Drama. What would you do to keep from being the villain in the history books? In the Big Cherry town council meeting, full of backstabbing, personal agendas, and pet peeves, The Minutes explores small town politics and the real-world effects of trying to rewrite history. This scathing comedy about real-world power, from the author of August: Osage County, exposes the ugliness behind some of our most closely-held American narratives while asking each of us what we would do to keep from becoming history’s losers. The Minutes is directed by Mitch Kiliulis and stars John Brownlie, Patrick French, Christina Pierro Biggins, Elijah Lidonde, Matthew Johnson, Thomas Mshooshian, Scott Salley, Cindy Bell, Lena Vani, Michael Walker, and Kaven Matyczynski. The Minutes runs at the Worcester Academy Performance Center with performances on September 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th at 7:30pm and performances on September 14th and 21st at 2:00pm. (NOTE: Stay for our post-show conversation with the director and members of the cast following our matinee performance on Sunday, September 14.)
