Boston Ballet closes its 62nd season with Marius Petipa's The Sleeping Beauty, a production featuring additional choreography by Frederick Ashton, Tchaikovsky's score performed live by the Boston Ballet Orchestra, and sets and costumes by Emmy Award-winning designer David Walker. The ballet follows Princess Aurora, cursed by the Fairy Carabosse to sleep for 100 years until awakened by a prince's kiss, and concludes with a grand wedding celebration. This production, rooted in Ninette de Valois's staging after Nicolai Sergeyev's 1939 version, has been a signature work for Boston Ballet since its premiere with the company in 2005. Performances run May 28 through June 7 at the Citizens Opera House.
