Dates: 9/24/2026

📍 Theatre:
Spire Center for the Performing Arts

The Greg Abate Quartet performs at The Spire Center for Performing Arts on September 24 as part of the Spire Lobby Series, presented by The Antonia and Vladimir Kulaev Cultural Heritage Fund. Greg Abate is an American jazz saxophonist, flutist, composer, and educator known for his hard-bop style, and Downbeat's Annual Readers Poll ranked him as one of the top three alto players in the country. He is joined by pianist Chris Taylor, who led his own band at The Prudential's Top of the Hub in Boston for over a decade, drummer Gary Johnson, who has performed with Dizzy Gillespie and Rosemary Clooney, and bassist Todd Baker, a veteran of the Artie Shaw Orchestra, the Woody Herman Band, and the Tommy/Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra. The series showcases local and regional musicians in a relaxed, intimate 70-seat lounge setting.
