Rent and Hair are my favorites. "One Song Glory" and "Another Day" are my favorite songs from Rent and "Manchester, England" "I Got LIfe" "Hair" and "The Flesh Failures" are my favorites from Hair.
It's like a Lay's potato chip. You can't pick just one.
"And I'm a grown up....I don't go on vacations....I go to Broadway." - dramamama611
"Even I think that's hot, and I'm a straight guy. If I ever become gay he is the reason." - Drunk Chita Rivera on Gavin Creel
"Leia947 is my theatre mamma, and I love her for it." - AndAllThatJazz22
Show Boat and West Side Story are my favorite musicals (although I regard the current revival of WSS as an abomination).
My absolute favorite song from any musical is "It's Alright with Me" from Cole Porter's Can-Can, but there are many others I also consider secondary favorites.
"I long-ago realized that this country is a nation of

My favorite musical is West Side Story and my favorite songs are America and Somewhere.
I'm a professional. Whenever something goes wrong on stage, I know how to handle it so no one ever remembers. I flash my %#$&.
"Jayne just sat there while Gina flailed around the stage like an idiot."
My favorite show is Cats since it was the first one I saw so it's always stuck with me. But, I think my favorite song is "Always True to You in My Fashion" from Kiss Me, Kate.
My favorite show is Hairspray and from that show, my favorite song is probably I Know Where I've Been, although, I possibly can't pick a favorite overall.
Although it was extremely hard, I have narrowed it down to my favorite show and song. It was a close call, but here it is:
"Greenfinch and Linnet Bird" Sweeney Todd
"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim
Song: Currently- I'm Alive from Next to Normal All Time- Probably Being Aling from Company
"I wouldn't let Esparza's Bobby take my kids to the zoo...I'd be afraid he'd steal their ice cream and laugh."- YankeeFan
"People who like Sondheim enjoy cruelty."-LuvtheEmcee
My choices would change from time to time, but right now I'd choose A Chorus Line as my favorite show, and If He Walked Into My Life (Mame) as my favorite song.
"It does me no injury for my neighbour to say there are 20 gods or no god. It neither picks my pocket, nor breaks my leg."
-- Thomas Jefferson
For Shows (in no particular order) Rent Mama Mia Chicago and I'm sure Hair and ROA will be added to this list when I see them
For songs (also in no particular order) From "Chicago"... "All that Jazz" and "Cell Block Tango" and pretty much the rest of the score. I absolutely love all the songs in "Rent" especially "Rent" "Out tonight" and, of course "Seasons Of Love". In ?Hair?? "Aquarius" and "Hair" (I DLed the cast recording)
I'm sure I'm missing some here but this is what I can think of at this time
My favorite musical of all time is A Little Night Music and my favorite showtune is "You Can't Get a Man with a Gun" from Annie Get Your Gun.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."
-John Guare, Landscape of the Body
This is a REALLY REALL REALLY tough thread. My favorite show and song changes every week. As of right now:
Show: Sweeney Todd
Song: The Flesh Failures/Eyes Look Your Last/Let the Sunshine in
"There's nothing good on. The media hates Christmas. The media loves vampires, though. Maybe they will show a Twilight Christmas." -Danmeg's 10 year old son.
