Play: I can't remember his name or the part he played but this guy played Oliver Platt's role in the Huntington Theatre Company's production of Shining City. I really haven't seen that many plays.
Butters, go buy World of Warcraft, install it on your computer, and join the online sensation before we all murder you.

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
UAisGREAT, I totally agree with you on Butz. If I was judge souly based on voice, if deffenitly wouldn't be him.. and he deffenitly didn't have the most emotionally draining performance ever.. but as we know, a performance isn't just based on voice.. and having a voice like Paulo Szot isn't required for the role he played. Like you said, his comedic timing, and total ebodiment of the character was so incredible, that he just had me captivated the entire time. His singing voice fit the character extremely well. The guy had such a strong stage presence.
"I'm afraid this offer comes off the table... at midnight tonight."
"...maybe the worst bluff I've ever seen."
"Even the members of GOBIAS could agree on that one."
Musical: Patti Lupone in Gypsy or Alice Ripley in Next to Normal, though if pressed to pick one, I'd probably pick Alice. Play: Amy Morton in August: Osage County; I was pulling for her during Tony season--thought she was remarkable.
I'm 25; my first Broadway show was in 1991. There have been a lot but I agree with the above mentions for Brian Dennehy in Death of a Salesman and Christine Ebersole in Grey Gardens. They're two that, as I watched them, I felt I was unquestionably watching history be made.
Also, I thought the cast of the London production of Festen was the most brilliant ensemble acting I've ever seen. It was a huge hit over there and it's really a shame that they screwed up the casting so much for the Broadway production.
I'd rather call them Most Memorable Performances --
Plays/Musicals --
Ingrid Bergman in More Stately Mansions ( Eugene O'Neill) - I think I was more in awe of her than anything else - I was on the front row and I could almost touch her long skirt on the very low stage - LOL!
Barbra Streisand in Funny Girl - it was my first trip to America and somebody took me to my first Broadway show!
Richard Kiley - Man of La Mancha - very emotional experience!
Richard Dreyfuss - The Prisoner of Second Avenue ( London production) - most enjoyable comedic performance.
Hugh Jackman - The Boy from Oz ( not sure if it was the Broadway or the arena tour in Australia which made the greater impact to me) - simply outstanding - singing, dancing, and acting!
