How is row H center mezz?

jonartdesigns, almost every female on Broadway wears a wig, regardless of what their regular hair looks like. Wigs are just more reliable and easier to manage.

Maybe it's because I've been seeing so much weighty stuff lately, but 9 to 5 was an absolute blast. I can't remember the last time I had so much fun in the theater. All three women are great, as is Marc Kudisch. I haven't seen Rock of Ages or Shrek, but I highly doubt they were better.

Thanks for posting your opinion on the show, TalkinLoud. I am so glad you loved it. I see it tomorrow afternoon for the fourth time...going with a friend who hasn't seen it yet...can't wait!

CukorLover, I notice that's the second time you have pinpointed WAT for something that I'm sure a lot of users of this site do or would do if given the chance. It might not be for 9 to 5, but people do see shows repeatedly or see many different shows in a short time frame. It's nothing special. So is it really worth it to point out?

I went last night to see 9 to 5. I have to say, I loved it. It's purpose is mainly to let the audience have a great time and laugh a lot-i think it went above that. I also really loved Dolly's score-it's fun and varies into different styles and tempos. Everyone gave amazing performances, especially the three leading ladies and Marc. I also loved the choreography-it was exciting and the dancing during scene changes with the underscoring worked really well. It really stood out in a few songs, especially the title song which was one of the best. Overall, I had such a great time and I'd love to see it again!

Oh yeah-I went with 5 people and I was surprised because when we bought the tickets, we had row B seats 5-13 (the seats all the way to the left). However, they changed the tickets for us without our consent to 1-9, putting us closer to the center. We were so pleasantly surprised and it helped us all enjoy the show even more because if we had been all the way to the left, it definitely had an obstructed view.

Any word on when the recording is being released? It's not on Amazon and I couldn't find anything about the release on the musical's website.

I hope the cast recording is released soon... when I am in NYC in June to see 9 to 5 would be nice timing re: Shine Like the Sun: 9 to 5 Broadway Thread!

Sad to hear that Ann Harada is leaving though, I hope she is still there for the night i have tickets.

I am really excited to see it. I can't wait to finally see Megan perform live after years of suffering here in Australia!

I won the lottery for this last night and I thought the show was so much fun! Very true to the movie too. All 3 girls were amazing but it was uncanny how much Megan H was like Dolly.
I definitely want to get the cast recording when it's released. Didn't see any notices at the theater about it though.

Mad props to the cast of 9 to 5 for today's matinee performance- before the show started (at least 15 minutes late) there was an announcement made that today's performance would involve some "alterations" to the usual staging, due to technical difficulties.

Well, turns out that the technical difficulty was that there was no center stage lift, and so (SPOILERS if you haven't seen the show), anything that required the lift just wasn't there: there was no bed in the opening number, there was no copy machine for SJB to be at before "I Just Might," there was no furniture to sit on during the pot smoking scene, there was no copy machine for Hart to fall into during Judy's dream sequence, there was no car trunk to put Hart in during "Shine Like the Sun," and then later in that number no bed for him to be hanging above, etc.

I know, I know, the show must go on and such, so I shouldn't be surprised that it was carried off so well, but with the sheer number of workarounds that were going on (the male ensemble wheeled their own urinals on and off stage for "One of the Boys," etc.) PLUS the fact that Michael X. Martin was on as Hart for what I was told was only the second time (?), it was a great show at the Marquis this afternoon.

A lot of the same things happened when I went on the 10th. The show started about 15 minutes late, and they stopped the 2nd act twice for "technical difficulties." Even though I hadn't seen the show yet, I could tell I was missing out in a few parts. I loved it though, I can't wait for the cast recording to come out. July 14th!!! <3

Today is Ann Harada's last performance according to the @9to5themusical Twitter account. She will be replaced by someone named Jill. Gaelen Gilliland's current schedule for her understudying:
*June 21st - Judy
*June 27th (evening) - Daphne
*July 1st (both shows) - Anita
*July 5th - Daphne

Again with the technical difficulties, intermission started 20ish minutes late, and I would have to assume it was the lift. According to the doorman/bo guy/general upkeep of the theater person it's been giving them a lot of grief recently. I guess most of us are lucky that they've started late or started intermission late rather than stopping the show.

I've seen it twice now, once in early June and last night. I was wondering if as the curtain comes down after curtain call if Stephanie, Megan, and Allison always do the Charlie's Angels thing, or if that was a special Farrah Fawcett thing. I really don't remember that happening before, but I couldn't be certain.

I saw 9 to 5 on Sunday and had a great time. It's may not be perfect, but I smiled my way through the entire show.

I thought Block, Hilty, and Janney were a great trio. Stephanie sounded amazing during "Get Out and Stay Out" (which definitely got the loudest applause of the night), I really liked Hilty during "Change It", and Janney had a nice moment during "One of the Boys". Kathy Fitzgerald was hilarious in both "Heart to Hart" and "5 to 9", and I loved the way she always said Violet's name.

Marc Kudisch was great--it says a lot that he was able to get the audience to enjoy him despite the fact that the character is a total jerk. Justin Patterson was on for Andy Karl; he was very likable in what otherwise seems like a thankless role.

The ensemble deserves much credit, too, because they're energy really made the show a treat! A special shout-out to Spencer Liff--the guy's an amazing dancer.

And while there were a few songs that I didn't care for, I rather liked Dolly's score. "I Just Might" and "9 to 5" were great songs.

They usually do the robot. I am thinking of making a return trip just to see Spencer. Does anyone know how long he is in it? IBDB doesn't have him listed as in the show right now.

yeah, the Charlie's Angels pose is often done...not just in memoriam. I've also seen the robot, bump and grind, and the YMCA when the cowboy from The Village People was in the audience.
