Well you know the tour will be a crazy success, there are SA fans all over the country who probably were never able to make it to New York City to see it and will dive at the opportunity.

I enjoyed it but was not a fan of the jumping up & down a/k/a choregraphy

I wish the cast & crew well.

Not surprised, but sad.

I wish I believed that all of these shows are closing just to make room for new shows, but I don't. I don't blame producers and investors for being scared and cutting their losses in this sucky economy, but I wish someone had faith. Pretty soon all that will be left on Broadway is Wicked and Jersey Boys.

Good!
And please don't jump on me with all the "Boo hoo! No more jobs!" crap. IT'S SHOW BUSINESS KIDS! This show was nothing more than a poorly crafted piece of pretentious ****.

Wow. It's not really surprising, considering the economy's in the dumps. I'm not a fan of the show but I wish all the best for the cast and crew.

I'm not the Broadway historian that a lot of people on here are, so I want to pose the question: This is extremely odd to see this many closings so close together, right? I've only really been following Broadway for about 7-8 years and I surely don't remember a time like this. Although, part of it could be that before shows really started a following on the internet, me getting to NYC once a year really limited how much I had heard of them.

"Heh, the sock puppet yesterday was right!"

That was my first thought too. Before I saw Rob's name attached to the post, I had a "didn't we just do this yesterday?" moment.

Well damn! I better find a date soon and run out and get the rush tickets for a performance!

Haven't seen it yet but quite a lot of friends like it.

I once heard someone describe her (Ruthie Henshall) singing as sounding as though she's trying to swallow a whole meatball slightly larger than her windpipe. (The same person compared Michael Ball's singing to sounding as though he's sitting on a washing machine on spin cycle and Colm Wilkinson's to a man with a paralyzed lip trying to eat cottage cheese.) --- Schmerg_The_Impaler

I don't want to sound annoying, but does anyone know when tickets will go on sale? It's closing on my birthday, and my family really understands how much I love it. Thanks :)

I saw it back with the OBC and it was okay but there was nothing I found extraordinary about it. I didn't think it would last too long once the original cast left but I thought that since it recouped it would be okay despite the less than stellar business. So I'll go in the camp of being surprised but not too surprised by this announcement. I still can't believe how all these shows are dropping like flies, has there ever been this many mass closures across the district before?

Also I heard a rumor that 13 will be gone sometime next month. I don't know if its true or not but that's what I heard from the grapevine.

rentheadca -- someone said in another thread that the box office (or was it Telecharge?) told them tix would be released in the next couple of days.

well ya know, considering full price tickets for most broadways shows are now $122 it's not surprising that people would choose to spend their money differently. thank you recession.
