Yes, yes, and YES! DEFINITELY make an effort to see it!

For me, it amounted to an abso-freakin-lutely enthralling 2 hours of splendor - Of course, I had Langella and Sheen in the leads. At the same time, in that same respect, I can't imagine it not being a wonderful evening of entertainment. Peter Morgan's script flows SO well, the dialogue so rich, and the emotions so raw ... It's an experience.

Cannot wait for the motion picture release - Dec. 5!

Don't miss it, Fiyero13. This just played at the Rep. in St. Louis, and like Limelight said, I couldn't imagine a bad production of this show. See it before the movie comes out!

The Overture is part of the show, people. Please shut your pie hole.

Just saw this on Saturday as a production by Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma, which is Oklahoma City’s professional theatre company. I loved it. I had been up since 2:45 a.m. as I was flying home from work in Pennsylvania. It definitely kept me awake! I can’t recall if I saw the movie on television. So I only went in with basic understanding of the premise. I wasn’t prepared to laugh as much as I did. Also, at the end there was a projection of all the real people portrayed in the play. I was surprised that I was emotional (tearful) at seeing the image of Frost and Nixon together. Part of this may be because Nixon was portrayed as a very flawed human being, but not a monster.

Also, the production got a lot of media interactive moments (pretty much throughout) with projections anytime time there was “television time” as well as off-stage elements. Also, some elements in the aisles or in front of the stage as well as one moment at the bar in the lobby (projected on back of stage). Of course, this was reminiscent of Network. At talkback Q n A afterwards with three of the actors, I asked about this and apparently this is an added element to this production. The actors stated that the original production may have had only one video element. I think they were a little surprised that I asked if the director had been influenced by Ivo van Hove. Made me wonder what Hove would/could do with this.
