Does anyone know if the songs from Caligula were ever recorded? It was a real gem of a show with a superb cast headed by Euan Morton.

Not with Euan Morton. The demo had four songs (which were available online.) I've also heard the full demo, but it's not available to the public. Recorded before Euan, it's rather unimpressive.

There is a four song CD they were taking orders for at the last two performance and sent that December. It's got Euan singing Hold You (As Tight As You Can), Gilles Chiasson sings What's Wrong With The World and Stop Me If You've Heard This Before and Brian Golub singing A Hero's Son. Not sure why they have him singing it and not Euan. That's the only legal recording I know of.

There was never a recording. I've tried to get my hands on various demos, and everytime I run into Eric Svejcar I ask about the show/recording. He is one talented dude.

All I've kept is the Caligula t-shirt, which sparks questions from puzzled strangers just about everywhere I go.

Oh my god I'm so glad someone brought this show up again! They are in the process of making a new demo, with Euan! A friend was asked to record but unfortunately was out of town. But supposedly Cheryl Freeman (from the original Tommy), Autumn - that girl from Legally Blonde and Colin Hanlon -the cutie from Rent are all singing for it. I think they are making the new demo because they finally want to take it to Broadway!

Wait, for real? There's hardly any info on the site. Are there plans to bring it to Broadway? I liked it when I saw it all those years ago, but that'd surprise me.

The music sounds good! I love Euan's voice so much.

I remember seeing this show the first year of the NYMF. It was utterly compelling in a really bad theater and Morton elevated it above the bare-minimum tech set-up required by the festival scheduling. To hear that it might be coming to Broadway after so many years is very exciting.
