What's that show where the guy and the girl make out a lot? I think I should be the girl, and Matt Morrison should be the guy. That's PERFECT casting right there!
Les Mis: Valjean: Mandy Patinkin Javert: Tim Curry Marius: Jim Sturgess Fantine: Bonnie Tyler Bishop: Meat Loaf Thenardier: Mark Hamill (traditional voice-actor of The Joker in the 90s) Mme. Admit it...some part of you would LOVE this.
"There is no problem so big that it cannot be run away from."

i really love your les mis cast...but anne hathaway as cosette ruins it. i mean, come on. she has hardly proven herself as a singer much less a strong, classical soprano.
"The good news is I have an excellent Tony speech. The bad news is I've had it for forty-five years."-Elaine Stritch
I actually spontaneously spewed out a 'Les Mis' cast list in my LiveJournal this morning.
Valjean - John Owen-Jones. Why not? He's damn good! So :P to Colm Wilkinson fangirls. Javert - Philip Quast. Terrence Mann can bite me. There is literally only one definitive Javert as far as I'm concerned. Fantine - Lea Salonga. YEAH I SAID IT. Having never been particularly impressed with her Eponine, she managed to blow me away with her Fantine. Let's keep that. Thenardier - Gary Beach. I really don't have any preferences for either Thenardier but I do love Gary Beach. Madame Thenardier - *shrugs* anyone'll do. Maybe I'd lean more towards the Tracie Bennett side than the Jenny Galloway side though... Marius - Michael Ball. It's not that I *want* Michael Ball as Marius, it's more that I find it incredibly difficult to accept anyone else. Enjolras - Anthony Warlow plskthxbai! *_* (Although someone suggested that Darius Danesh might make a nice Enjolras, and I would be totally down with that if he wanted to do it.) Cosette - ANYONE but that shrill harridan from the CSR! Ali Ewoldt if you want her to look like her mother, Judy Kuhn if you really don't care. Eponine - well, I can think of three Eponines I really like. Kaho Shimada if you don't mind a heavy Japanese accent, Frances Ruffelle if you're going old-skool, or Celia Keenan-Bolger, the only woman who's ever brought me to tears with her rendition of 'On My Own'. As long as she's a scrappy street-kid rather than a hottie with strategically-placed dirt, I'm happy. Grantaire - Drew Sarich (shuttup I'm allowed to have a Grantaire preference, and it wouldn't feel like a complete cast if I didn't sneak Drew "IMA PLAY EVERYONE!" Sarich in somewhere).
I don't think I swore... but I am significantly more offensive in the privacy of my LJ than the public forum that is theatre discussion boards...
Don't know if this is the right place to say this and my apologies for giving offense, but I STILL maintain that is it CRIMINAL that Curtis Holbrook isn't going to be Joey. He was BORN to play the role!!!!!! I LOVE that show and no one in front of the public today could do it as well as he. I has spoken, for the zillionth time.

Find a way to bring Judy Garland back from the dead so Follies can be revived with her playing Carlotta. Imagine that voice, with that personal history, belting out I'm Still Here.
Bring Teresa Stratas or one of the other great sopranos out of retirement to sing One Last Kiss.
Give Angela Lansbury the strength to make it through eight shows a week for Hattie and Broadway Baby. (And I don't say that to be mean, but because she said herself during Deuce that eight shows a week has gotten very hard for her now.)
Edith Piaf for Solange. You couldn't find a more authentic voice for Ah, Paris!
Those are all the roles I feel like casting with the impossible for right now. Feel free to fill in the blanks.
Elphaba: Idina Menzel Galinda: Kristin Chenoweth (or possibly Brittany Snow) Fyiero: Robert Pattinson Boq: Alan Cumming Madame Morrible: Maggie Smith or Miranda Richardson or Kathy Bates Wizard: VICTOR GARBER Nessarose: Newcomer
I feel bad for Robert Pattinson. Every time he gets cast in a film that's based on a popular read for kids/teenagers (so twice then), my first thought is nearly always "... but he isn't pretty enough!". He's certainly not bad-looking in the slightest, but he's not exactly the paragon of unearthly beauty that is called for in 'Twilight'...
Jean Valjean: Colm Wilkinson... He IS Valjean. No one matches him in the role.
Javert: Philip Quast... He IS Javert. Again, he is the definitive and only Javert.
Fantine: Lea Salonga
Enjolras: Anthony Warlow
Marius: Michael Ball... He IS Marius. The voice, his acting and his whole take on the role is still to this day miles above any other actor to play the role (that I have seen/heard.
Cosette: Emmy Rossum
Eponine: TOUGH one as she is my favorite character in my favorite musical ever... I say Diana Karrina... I think
Thenardier: Barry James. He IS Thnardier. Just emodies the character like no one else ever has or ever will.
Mme Thenardier: Rosie O'Donnell
"TO LOVE ANOTHER PERSON IS TO SEE THE FACE OF GOD"- LES MISERABLES---
"THERE'S A SPECIAL KIND OF PEOPLE KNOWN AS SHOW PEOPLE... WE'RE BORN EVERY NIGHT AT HALF HOUR CALL!"--- CURTAINS
I don't find Rob Pattinson attractive, either, but I always seem to be attracted to the 'wrong' person. Case in point-- in Harry Potter, I love Matthew Lewis (who plays Neville) and James and Oliver Phelps (who play Fred and George). When my class went to see Romeo and Juliet at the Shakespeare Theatre, everyone swooned over Romeo except for me... I was all about Benvolio. I think the most attractive person in the Les Miserables revival cast was not Adam Jacobs, not Aaron Lazar, not Drew Sarich, but Norm Lewis. And I think in Pirates of the Caribbean that Jack Davenport, who played Norrington, is much more attractive than Johnny Depp or Orlando Bloom. So I assumed that if I think Rob Pattinson looks like a mannequin with no character at all, then everyone else would think he was hot.
