Jack the Ripper. There's an empty place in my heart waiting to be filled by a great Jack the Ripper musical.

I always thought it would be great to have a musical about the struggles to write and ratify the Declaration of Independence.
BSoBW2: I punched Sondheim in the face after I saw Wicked and said, "Why couldn't you write like that!?"

A gay romp of a musical about Hitler would be cute!

No. You're another one whose posts are inane. Are you that starved for attention that you must ask stupid questions on here?

History musicals tend not to go down very well (Rex, I and Albert, Thomas and the King, Ben Franklin in Paris, La Révolution Française). Apart from 1776, I can't think of one that has been successful.

Rose Havock.

Jesus Christ Superstar, Scrippsy? re: Is there a historical figure you would like portrayed in a Bway show?

Parade, Floyd Collins, both financial flops but critical darlings, so only half-floppy.

What's that one about the Argentinian bint again? Maybe you won't know it, it was the '70s after all...

Thank you Weez! I stand much corrected! Should I link this to your "things you feel dumb about" thread?

Assassins, Gypsy, The King And I, Sunday In The Park With George. I think I've exhausted all the cast recordings on my iPod that reference real people. :)

I do get where you were coming from though, there's a big difference between a musical that happens to be set in the past and a musical about a historical figure. I still get points for Evita though. re: Is there a historical figure you would like portrayed in a Bway show?
