Did the Palace change their name to the Orephium theatre? thats what it said under Legally Blonde.

LEGALLY BLONDE had its pre-Broadway tryout in San Francisco. Though it played the Golden Gate Theatre, the Orpheum Theare is one of that city's many theatres who sold tickets to the show (along with the Curran Theatre).

The 1st US Nat'l Tour of LEGALLY BLONDE is also playing the Orpheum Theatre in Memphis, TN next March 2009: http://www.orpheum-memphis.com/index.cfm?section=comattrac&page=details&showid=561

NOTE: The Palace Theatre in New York City has not been renamed nor seems likely to be as its a New York City Times Square landmark since its vaudevillian heyday.

Of course, despite what Woody Allen would have uis believe in "Everything You Wanted to Know About Sex" the phrase "playing the Palace" meant that particular theater from the time when it was the center of the world of Vaudeville.

They'll never change the name, although Orfeh-um is very clever.
