My mom is thinking of rushing the show for her and my sister to see on May18th While my dad and I are at SA. She has a college ID(My mom). What time would u suggest getting there to get tickets for the night show? They open at 12 would 11AM be ok or would I have to get there earlier?

"No Day But Today"
Im thinking about going to take my sister to rush Legally Blonde within the next couple of weeks. I never did any kind of rush before so I was wondering what the best day is usually to go. I have read some post on the board and it seems that it depends on the week but I was just wondering if anyone had any advice from experience. I was thinking a Wed. since I have a chance for the 2pm and 8pm show. Also do you think 9am would be to late to get to the box office? I called the theatre and she told me that they were only accepting college Id's that were updated but that was pretty much the only information she gave me(she was not a very nice lady! haha). How much are they and where are the seats usually if I do get them? Sorry for all the questions and thanks in advance for any help!
First of all, make sure that your mother's college ID has some sort of expiration date on it. They will not accept the ID unless it says "Valid through Spring '08" or something like that.
Also, from my own experience, its kind of an unwritten rule that student rushes are for those 25 and under. Even if your mother has a valid college ID, they may still find a way to deny her tickets because she may look too old to be in college.
The only place I've seen them be strict about under 25 with a student ID is Second Stage. Granted from what has been said on here, LB is getting really picky.
Unless they specify under 25 only, if someone is a valid student ~ undergrad or grad ~ they ARE a student regardless of age.

Thanks for the info! but yes when I called the theatre she said they are really strict with the ID's and that if it's not updated (Spring 200 they will not accept it. I didnt think we had to get there that early(6:30) so thanks for that note because I would have showed up at like 9!
So does anyone know how much a ticket is when doing rush and where the seats are usually located?
I rushed LB several times last summer as well as once during the off-season/school's in session months. For the 12:00 box office opening days during the off season, 11:00 would be fine, but when I did it during the summer last year, For the 12:00 opening, I was there at 7:30 and got the 2nd and 3rd last ticket they had. I don't know when they start getting bombarded with people rushing but thats just what I noticed once the summer starts. And they are getting more strict with the tickets. The last 3 times I saw the show they've asked for my ID and the IDs of the other ticket holders as we walked into the theater to make sure we were students. Most student tickets just say STDT or something to that effect but LBs have big pink stamps on them. Just food for thought... Good luck!!
thanks for the reply! I am assuming that the summer would be more busy so im trying to get there before most schools let out. I know that a lot of colleges are done though so who knows. I dont know if I read your post wrong or not but even if I get two tickets with my college ID the other person im taking has to have an ID too? My sister has a high school ID so I guess I will tell her to bring that too just in case.
Only one person needs to have an ID. The seats are located in the first and second row of the orchestra, always. Very good view, but sometimes you're neck starts to hurt looking up after awhile make sure to tell them to strech during intermission!
Definetly worth the money, they'll love it!

Wow first and second row? that is awsome! To bad I didnt know about this a while ago! I already saw the show and LOVED it and my sister watched the MTV show and loved it so im really looking foward to going again! I just hope whenever I do go I get tickets because even though its only a train ride away im taking off of work and im taking my sister out of school so I hope it wont turn out as a waste of a day. But I will stay postitive haha
The box office's pickyness varies. I rushed after the change requesting college ids with a date and was fine with my id that does not have a date, but the past two times, everyone that I have been with has had to show a student id when entering the theatre.
Really? So what time would you say I should get there? I was thinking of getting there alittle before 9am since it opens at 10am but I dont know if that is to late. Maybe 8am? I guess I will just play it by year that day and see what time I actually get up and start moving! haha
lol.. I always air on the safe side of getting there earlier. Last time I got there way too early and was the only one there for about an hour and a half and felt dumb. Luckily I had my laptop with me and got free wireless from the hotel right next door. But then again it was a thursday afternoon in Feb. And since it's been a while since I've gone, I'm not sure what new policy they have in effect now but if the person you're bringing has an idea, they should bring it just in case, if not, then hopefully the ticket takers won't ask. But one time each person I took had to show ID.. Luckily we were all students but that was just that one time. Good luck though!
With the recent rush policy change the amount of people who can rush is much more limited. Honestly, on Sunday I got there at 11:40 and was 4th in line...and there are 2 shows that day.
Has anyone been successful getting rush without a marked college ID? i.e. showing them your schedule or something else that proves you're still a student. Sucks because my school doesn't issue new cards each year.
