HOLY CRAP!
I was flipping through my old playbills and realized that I saw T.V. Carpio in the Rent ensemble a year back. She was Prudence in Across the Universe, for the non-Beatles/Taymor fans out there. And she had already filmed it-cool.
I also saw Haven as Maureen...she was pretty good.
Just thought I'd share that.

Yeah, watching "Across the Universe" can be a little like playing "Spot the Sort-of Recent RENT Cast Member"...T.V. Carpio, Matt Caplan, Antonique Smith...according to IMDb Luther Creek was also in the cast, but I don't recall seeing him in the film--did his part make the cut?

There are other Broadway actors throughout the film as well...maybe on one "famous", but a few who are popular here on BWW.

luther is in the scene that is right before benefit of mr. kite. he was hard to recognize bc his hair is brown, and when i'm looking for luther the first thing i usually think of is "bright blonde/platinum hair"

he even has a line i think.
destan owens is also in it and i think a few others as well.

I love Across the Universe too. I can see why T.V. would be in Rent. I wonder what she's doing now...hopefully more movies.

i think noah weisberg was also in Across the universe. In his bio he mentions being in it but I have yet been able to find him in it and his hair is rather distinct.

T.V. was also a Mimi understudy but she hurt herself about two days before she was scheduled to go on. re: T.V. Carpio I had really, really wanted to see her Mimi.

Luther's the guy who comes back and tells Dr. Robert and the rest of the pranksters that Mr. Kite won't see the after the trip.

Aisha DeHaas (Rent) was also in it as one of the waitresses during the With a Little Help from My Friends, and Antonique Smith was one of the hookers, also.

According to imdb, Noah Weisburg was one of the ACLU lawyers.

Maybe I'm being Debbie Downer on this one, but - while I do think she's very pretty - I'm not a fan of Carpio's voice, and I thought her role in Across the Universe was damn near useless.

Well, I agree about her part. They basically only added her in so they could sing "Dear Prudence".
In my Broadway version of Across the Universe, she sings "I Want to Hold Your Hand" to Sadie, and she never leaves New York.
