Oh, oops! I don't know why I was thinking Not Barker, Todd was talking about "Baby June and Her Newsboys."

I did pure amazement Kathy Halenda was an amzing Rose and my favorite Rose.

It took me a while to realize that "I did" and "Pure Amazement" was another sentence, and that "Kathy Helenda.... Rose" was another sentence.

We have to be picky (well, this isn't even picky. He was just commenting on how uncomprehendable it was) or else every idiotic Wicked fans will strt typng lyk dis

The tour was enjoyable, but ultimately forgettable. Halenda delivered a capable and likable performance but I agree that I didn't sense the starpower needed for a good Rose.

Wow! That Herbie looks young next to Halenda.

Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?

She reminds me of a mix between Debra Monk and Tyne Daly. From appearance to sound.

Oh PalJoey, I have to disagree. No one can match the perfection that is Kay Medford's 'Rose'. Kathy Halenda (as ljay said) reminds me of a mix between Debra Monk and Tyne Daly.

Is it strange that there is a national tour that has nothing to do with the current Broadway revival. I don't know it just seems strange to me. Is this something that happens a lot? I cant remember any instances of it.

This tour is a non-equity tour that is I believe based on the 03 revival. It has been touring since before the LuPone production.

ljay I guess what I was basically getting at was, I kind of figured that they would have pulled the rights to this show in anticipation of the Broadway Revival. If I were directing a major Broadway revival I would not want some non-equity tour out there. I would think that a lot of people would assume the tour is associated with the Broadway production (which it is obviously not). I could be wrong about this as they are all just my assumptions, just thought it was strange thats all.

So i saw the Gypsy tour tonight at the Hippodrome Theatre in Waco, TX.

Let me just say that i did see the Lupone Gypsy both at CC and on Bway 2 weeks ago, so it is very much fresh in my mind.

The whole production felt muted. None of the performances were horrible, but none of them outstanding. The acting was sped through, and seemed unimportant to most of the actors.

Halenda was interesting ... it was a giddy rose, that was kind of one level most of the time, wasnt low energy, it wasnt high energy, it was just the same energy constantly... and was very uninteresting.

Louise looked very young as well... i dont have my program with me so im not sure of her name.

Other than that... the show was decent... i have seen a lot stronger non-eq productions.
