Is it called the 'TKTS booth' or the 'tickets booth'?

Tix
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

"The Two-fuhs."

For the longest time,I had no idea what people were referring to when they said TKTS because I was so used to using two-fers!

You pronounce each letter. And nobody uses the word "booth". It's just T-K-T-S.

Example: T-K-T-S has tickets for Young Frankenstein.

(Disclaimer: The above is just an example. TKTS can't guarantee tickets for any show, nor do past results ensure future gains. No forward reaching decisions should be made on this example.)

Two fers?

As in, two for one?

"As in, two for one?"

Yes that's what some people call it. The idea is that you get two tickets for the price of one (or each is half price). I refuse to call it that because I'm a single person and I usually only buy one.

As in two for the price of one. If you buy two tickets at $50 each, it would roughly come out to $100 which is what one ticket used to cost before Mermaid, Frankenstein ect...

At least four times a year when I was younger my dad and I would go to the World Trade Center TKTS booth and buy two-fers for the next day's show. There was hardly any lines and we would try and pick what interested me at the time. Those were good times!

I've heard people use both that and "the tickets booth."

Then they were tourists or ignorant.

I have not used TKTS for over 15 years.

A lot of tourists may not have heard of Broadway Box.

A friend of mine last year called it "tickets tickets." I asked her where the second "tickets" was.

TKTS actually tends to be significantly cheaper than simply using a discount code nowadays.

Very rarely are discount codes for tickets at 50% off.

For example, I wanted to get a ticket to THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION, and the cheapest discount code available was for $66.50.

I was able to buy an orchestra ticket at TKTS for $53.00.

$13.50 may not make a difference to some people, but to me it does.

Not to mention that if you're getting a ticket to a play, the "Plays Only" line tends to have a wait of about one minute.

I always called it Duffy Square.

From the website:

Note that the Duffy Square booth has moved a half-block southwest to the breezeway behind the Marriott Marquis (enter at 46th Street).

p.s. New Yorkers like to shout TKTS. Most others pronounce it t.k.t.s., but spell it the same way.
