Harry Potter speculation (don't spoil it)#1
Posted: 7/18/07 at 9:37am
We all know that someone in the final Harry Potter book gets whacked. This is a thread for SPECULATION on who gets it in the end.

***If you already know, please keep it to yourself***

I say Hermione gets it. She's always been too much of a know-it-all. I think she'll die from one of her spells being reversed on her and become one of the paintings on the wall.

I say Fred or Percy Weasley. Why? I don't know, I just say so.
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Snape, Voldemort, Malfoy. I really don't want one of the trio to die.

Maybe Hagrid.

Just as long as it isn't a red-head or Harry, I'll probably be OK. I'll be upset, but not as much as if it were a Weasly.

I hate to even say it, and of course I don't want it to happen, but I feel sure it will be one of the trio: if not Harry himself. I want the book to come out!!

Yeah - I don't want to see Ron or either of the twins knocked out. Percy can go if they have to take one. (I have this awful feeling though that if Harry doesn't get it - Ron will.)

I'm not sure, I really hope no one gets killed. But, it's most likely going to be one of the trio or Hagrid.

I'm voting for Voldemort.
I have NEVER met Cheyenne Jackson. I have never hung out with him in his dressing room, he did not tweet me, he never bought me a beverage, and he mostly certainly didn't tickle me. . .that is all.

I'm also thinking it might be Mr. Weasley. He's quite high up in government.

Will anyone though be terribly upset about Mr. Weasley ??? He is a fine character, but I don't think there will be a big emotional impact from his demise !
I think Hagrid is a safe bet and, unfortunately, maybe Ron. Just don't kill Harry, please !!

I've believed from early on the books that for this to play out properly Harry has to die. In a way, I'll be pretty shocked if he doesn't, and a little disappointed, and it will feel that he's being kept alive because he's a popular character and they want to continue the stories somehow.

I think Snape, Lupin and posibly Hagrid and Mrs. Weasley will die.
I really hope Trelawny and McGonagall make it out ok.

I highly doubt Harry will be killed off, though Ron and Hermione and the Weasley family are all possiblities I guess.

I'm So excited for this book.

Random, but DayDreamer, I Love that picture of the dog- he's adorable.

This may be kind of off topic, but I didn't want to start another Harry Potter thread. Has anyone else heard anything about these "leaks" that are turning up on the internet?

I said in another thread that once I get the book on saturday, I'm just going to avoid all Potter threads, articles, etc, until I'm done.

Rowling's weird about the hints she drops, though. For the 4th book, she announced that one of the central characters would die. I never considered Cedric Diggory to be such a central character, so his death surprised me. So... maybe this doomed character will actually be one of the secondary characters and Harry & co. make it out alive.

I think Snape will die while proving his allegiance to one side or the other.

Yeah, I think that Snape is going to die. But I think when it's all said and done, he'll have turned out to be one of the good guys.

I also have the feeling, that Snape is after all one of the good ones and will play a big part in destroying Voldermort, before finally dying !

I agree about Snape. I don't know how to reeally interpret JKR's hints, though, and I've been surprised by the deaths in all the books that have had them.

I think Neville will get it---avenging is parents deaths. I think Snape is the one who got the reprieve (and I think we will find out that he was in love with Harry's mother!)

Snape and Percy Weasley both have a lot of potential for an eleventh hour turnaround/heroic death. I feel like with nine of them, at least one Weasley is going to die. The odds are just too much against them.

I like Hermione, so I want her to live, but Goth may be on to something. Snape may be a goner, but my money is on Malfoy and Harry killing each other. (a battle of honor type of thing)
