Why is most everyone complaining about the wording on the evites? Have you never gone to a preview screening before? There are always VIPs who go in 1st and then everyone else is allowed in if there are seats.

I've gone to many previews over the years. Until this week, the ones I attended were run how they were advertised. re: a response from New Line re: the free screening 'sistuation'

Maybe we really gain perspective and skip movies/Broadway shows/TV and everything else until the troops come home then? I'm sure my sister-in-law would appreciate it.

*only half kidding*

Actually KuhnKrazy.. I work on the hill and we "pions" are so sick and tired of this *bleeping* war.

Thank GOD for people like Marc, who allow people like me, who work with all the morons on capital hill who are supposed to be running our country, an amazing one hour and forty seven minutes of sheer enjoyment to help us forget the way our world is tilting right now.

By the way, I am going again this Saturday! YEAH!

So, has anyone (other than Marc) received a reply to their e-mail? Just wondering.

Hey there JRybka,
If you don't mind expanding on it, what'a a pion? Yes, I Googled but I'm confused and still not clear what it is.

I was only joking about the skipping the entertainment part. Though I've kind of had it with people using the "have some perspective" toward people living everyday lives. The other day, my sister in-law (whose very beautiful son is off fighting re: a response from New Line re: the free screening 'sistuation' ) screamed at a mutual friend for being mildly upset that some neighborhood kids smashed a baseball through his car window after he repeatedly asked them to play elsewhere. "My son is fighting in the war and you care about your car getting smashed?" my sister in-law yelled at the friend. Well yeah, because, sad as some global situations are, everyday life goes on. So I don't see what's wrong with gently nudging New Line into identifying their mistake so they don't confuse and disappoint people again at future screenings. Tonight I'm going doing my weekly volunteer work for a Democratic candidate in hopes of getting that person into the White House next terms. And then tomorrow I will leave a reminder to my milkman (yes, I have a milkman in this day and age. Everyone always gets a kick out of it LOL) to leave our milk bottle (It even comes in a glass bottle and I don't live in a 1950s time warp! LOL) delivery further away from the door so it doesn't get knocked over when someone opens the door next Thursday morning and I don't wind up with milk all over my porch again. Life goes on.

And believe me I am sick to death of this war and this administration. You have my utmost sympathy for having to deal with those morons on a day to day basis.

jimnysf,
No response. I don't know about you but I don't want any freebies. I just hope they'll consider changing their policy for future screenings. I mostly felt bad for the parents with young children who had trouble explaining to their kids how they followed the rules but got burned anyway.

I agree, KuhnKrazy.

It was a bad experience all around. I had a free pass for "Chicago" and "Dreamgirls" and got into those. I also saw them several more times (paid) and bought the DVD's (twice for "Chicago" because they did a double dip release). I have the CD's, too. I would have done the same for this film. (I already have the CD for the film and stage versions) I've seen the show on Broadway many, many times and on tour in San Francisco and then later in San Jose. It always made me feel good no matter how bad I was feeling that day.

I must be extremely tired today cause it was supposed to be PEONS. lol lol

And I know life goes on... Every day, I thank someone upstairs(It changes on my moodswings) that my own meds help me through another day and that my poor dog who is battling cancer has made it another night.

And I laugh at THE VIEW (that Elizabitch) and I eat my lean cuisine (I wish I could lose 50 pounds) and I know that life goes on. But I just sometimes have to think about it and put in in perspective.

And I know that not seeing Hairspray would have pissed me off. And not meeting Emily Skinner after Witches of Eastwick was dissapointing but then I realize that I still have my freedoms. I still can sit on my butt (big since I have to lose those 51 pounds now.. thanks Hostess) and type about New Line Cinema's major muck up ot that I would love to play Norma Desmond someday.. (REre: a response from New Line re: the free screening 'sistuation'ream Parts)

So I do understand. And I would love to say that I am so jealous you get milk delivered.... I am lucky if my newspaper is not stolen from the front of the house every morning in my neighborhood.

Anywho~ I think that New Line should AT LEAST issue an apology to all of us who went and waited and were treated unfairly.

And since it is my birthday and I have worked all day, and made it to 34. I am now going to lay down in my bed with my dog and let her lick my face and enjoy 10 minutes of total and complete unconditional love from her.

Aww ok. I should have seen that you meant peons but I'm probably just as tired.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I went through something similar with my previous dog and it's just...well...there are no words... re: a response from New Line re: the free screening 'sistuation' Bless her.

Happy Birthday! As for your dream to play Norma Desmond, make it happen!!! :) I'd be there if you did. :)
