Right now am listening to Patti in Anything Goes.

Why, hello Margaret! Yes darling, half past five. Well, everyone, simply le tout Park Avenue and la creme de Hyannis! Well, the press table's going to be awfully crowded... but if you don't mind sharing a folding chair with Harper's Bazaar... Sing? Me? Heavens no, it's Edie's day, not mine... Although people can be so insistent, and I hate to disappoint. Twist my arm, blackmail me, threaten my very life, and who knows? You might get a verse of something...

I was going to say...do people actually use CDs anymore? Mine would be Pirate Queen. And the majority of my iPod is show tunes...or from stars from musicals or producers/creators.

Right now I'm listening to the Overture from NINE.

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Wow, everyone's listening to the Hairspray soundtrack. Is it that much better than the OBC recording? XD Personally, I can't stop listening to Elisabeth.

"I haven't got a pail." "Find your grail, your GRAIL!" "But it's not missing. It's right on the counter where it's supposed to- defying gravity, my giant cup's gone!" "Five hundred, twenty-five thousand, six hundred minutes. How do you measure... measure a year?" "How many times do I have to tell you, it's five hundred twenty-five thousand, five hundred and eighty-five point thirty-two minutes. You will never graduate if you keep basing your math on showtunes." "You ruin Broadway for me." "As well I should."

Yes, the HAIRSPRAY Film Soundtrack IS somewhat better than the Original Broadway Cast Recording. Just the souped-up orchestrations adds so much to the music. Rememeber, the Broadway show was orchestrated for a few musicians in the pit, whereas in the film they had a huge orchestra at their disposal.

One track that was unanimously panned and hated on the OBCR was "(The Legend of) Miss Baltimore Crabs" is now one of the most popular tracks on the film soundtrack. re: What's in your CD player now?

OCR of "The Will Rogers Follies", cuz I'm playing in the pit (trombone!) for a local production. I don't think this would be my cup of tea audience-wise, but it sure if FUN to play!!!
