The closest it's coming to me is Minneapolis? Ouch. Oh well, I don't really like the revival, anyway. It would have been neat to see Sweeney onstage, is all. :/
Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!
These theatres are huge. I think the smallest is the Boston-Colonial, and it is 1700 seats give or take. The rest are 2000+ and Atlanta is 4500. This is a tiny, intimate and subtle production. What are they thinking?
Spend the money and sit up way up close.

Since I'll be an official college boy in September, maybe I'll actually get to go!
"Y'know, I think Bertolt Brecht was rolling in his grave."

As excited as I am to get to see this show, I'm going to have to buy my ticket early if I want a good view. I'll be seeing it at the Fox in Atlanta, and that place is huge! Phantom's chandelier couldn't even go all the way to the cieling when the show was here. Maybe I'll be lucky again: when Evita was here, there were empty seats near the front that nobody had claimed, so my friend and I moved up for Act 2. As exciting as finding empty seats up front can be, I really hope the tour gets good audiences. Hopefully the movie will spark people's interest, b/c I know that Atlanta, GA isn't a prime location for Sweeney to find a huge fanbase.
I'm definitely going to go up to boston to see it. I have a friend there who I tried to get to come down to NY when it was on broadway, but she never made it, so I'm excited that now it's coming to her!
"Well thanks to The Color Purple and Phantom. . Chicago peeps are missing out on a lot of great tours this season"
No kidding. The "season" they offered was a joke!
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
I hope it's not a complete list, but I suppose I can make the trip from Dallas to Houston to see it. It wouldn't be the first time I've done that to see a show...
I talked with Judy Kaye tonight, and she said the Sweeney Todd tour will come to Chicago sometime in April at the Auditorium Theatre. That's good news and bad news, the good news being that the show is coming to Chicago, the bad news being that the show will be swallowed up in that monster of a theatre.

Come to SFrancisco! We sure can use it. I am so looking forward to the Movie but after seeing it on DVD, I want to see it now on stage. Especially since some thought the DVD with Lansbury wasn't stellar. I want something to compare it to.
chinkie, I love you for two reasons: first, the news about the Sweeney tour in Chicago (even if it is the Auditorium...in a perfect world, I'd put it in the Drury Lane, but oh well). Second, you've given me hope that I'll finally get to meet Judy Kaye tomorrow after the Bernstein concert.

Yes, the door (if you're facing the stage) on the left. However, I think the only reason why she came out was because she knew people that were waiting for her and I was able to get to her before she was whisked away. Good luck!

Tkt2Ride, It is coming to SF. It's not listed on the offical tour website for some reason, I forgot why but SF isn't considered part of the tour. It's playing at ACT starting at the end of Aug or beginnig of Sept, forgot the exact dates, for about a month.
Teeny, I feel your pain. A friend of mine is obsessed with this show, and I was REALLY looking forward to seeing it in Philly. Maybe they'll change their minds and add a Philly stop? One can wish!
