Nikki has only gone on once, so there haven't been many reports. I believe that someone over on the other board said she was terrific.
"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe."

my friend was so deeply disappointed last night, she played fantine recently in a highschool production and had her heart set on seeing lea.

Last night I saw Daphne's last performance as Fantine (unless they call her back after Lea's run). I was surprised that nobody presented her with flowers onstage. (I've seen the "revival" so many times that I was considering bringing flowers myself, but I was certain the Show people would do so.) I've seen the show progress from opening preview, last preview, opening night and eight or nine other performances. I am no kind of theater professional but (IMHO) the staging and acting and singing is so greatly better than at Opening. The cast seem to have grown into their roles. Alex is not so young as he started out - he seems at least three or four months older (seriously, I don't think anybody now would say he is too young). EVERYBODY is wonderful. I would think that critics who mentioned what they considered to be not-so-strong actors or singers would now change their tune.
And soon, with Lea Salonga, wow!
p.s. To the OLD Fantine: RIP. DNR. To the NEW Fantine: Welcome Ma'amselle, LEA self down.
I really enjoyed Daphne's performance but I'm VERY excited to see Lea live.

what did you/ how could you love her horrible performance? i went with 2 friends who havent seen a broadway show in their life and they even made fun of her and though she sucked calling her " an idiot that sounds like shes screaming but cant hit the notes with strep throat."
does anyone know if lea is supposed to finish the run as it is scheduled now or does she have an end date? i would love to go out there again to see her.
