I could see this so well. Because Madeline Kahn rocked SNL when she hosted (especially the first season when she sang "I Feel Pretty" as Frankenstein's bride -- obviously a reference to YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN).
Somebody back me up on this. Somebody should put Kristin on SNL. She would be great! Have her join the ranks of various Broadway people who have hosted before like David Hyde Pierce, Nathan Lane, and others.

Yeah, she's still pretty much unknown beyond Broadway circles. She'd have to star in a successful movie or tv series or have an album in the Top Ten to be considered as a host for SNL.

I think she would be great, but it's true that not enough people know who she is. I have a feeling that everyone's seen her before, and would probably recognize that "short blonde woman with the annoying voice," but she'd have to gather a bit more of a mainstream fan base.
Any stage actor would be better on SNL than any of the celebrity guests. Stage actors are much more comfortable in the live medium. Any Broadway name would kick butt on SNL. Remember, Christine Ebersole was briefly an SNL cast member. It was where I first heard her sing at a piano. Glorious voice.

I've always thought that Chenoweth would make a great host. I don't think that she's too obscure to be the host, as many "up and coming" performers have hosted the show before they were super famous.
Off the top of my head I can name Dane Cook, Rosie O'Donnell, Lindsay Lohan, Laura Leighton, Nia Vardolas (sp?), Alan Cumming, who all hosted at times when they weren't household names. I'm sure someone else has some better examples.
I thought you had to play more than one character on that show.

Her best shot, I would think, at being on SNL would've been right after she left Wicked and joined West Wing. She had the Wicked popularity momemntum and West Wing was an NBC show so it would've cross promoted.

She was in talks to host last year around this time. Since she has yet to appear, it must have fallen through. This was, of course, during her whole Old Navy commercial era. So she would have been more recognizable than usual.
I think she would be amazing if she hosted SNL. But I agree, not that many people outside the Broadway circle know who she is. Of course there are other hosts who some people haven't heard of, but then you say "oh he/she was in whichever movie." If you say Kristin was in Bewitched, Deck the Halls, RV, etc, some people might remember, but since she is usually a supporting part, I doubt it.
