#1NEW THREADS OLD THREADS
Posted: 1/7/07 at 12:49am

I am sure that many people, including myself, have posted threads on different topics that have already been discussed. And when this is done, people find it necessary to reply with the link to that thread, or comments saying "already been done" etc.

Can I just say that I am new on here and I missed out on many topics and don't really want to search to make sure that the topic or questions I am going to post, weren't already done before. So all of you "regulars" on here, if you see a thread thats already been done, just pass on by and ignore it and let the people who haven't seen it, enjoy the discussion. There is no need to make anyone feel like a dumb ass for it.

I think it's just easier for them to link back to the old thread. The information is already there and re-typing something that has been mentioned before is sometimes a pain.

I'm new myself as well and I use the search tool. It's a handy tool, it's quick, it saves me from feeling/being treated like a "dumb-ass" or whatnot, and you can also find other items of interest as well in between search results.

Exactly. There's no reason to rehash if it's faster and easier to read it the way it was explained the first time.
