All the best performers bring to their role something more, something different than what the author put on paper. That's what makes theatre live. That's why it persists.
- Stephen Sondheim
Isn't Ruthie living here right now with her husband (who's in Rent)? In the bway.com rent interviews he says his wife likes watching scary gruesome movies...kind of odd...
Brian Charles Rooney as Che and Stephen Bogardus as Peron with Rogers reprising Eva would be my ideal casting.
"Some people can thrive and bloom living life in a living room, that's perfect for some people of one hundred and five. But I at least gotta try, when I think of all the sights that I gotta see, all the places I gotta play, all the things that I gotta be at"
Dear Lord, Please let "Evita" cross over, and then the borders close, effectively trapping Quast in the US, so the he HAS to perform in "Secret Garden" and "The Fix" and please let Elena Roger get to reprise the role too...and while I'm at it, please take Mandy Patinkin's falsetto and send it somewhere else, so that he can stay here too. Oh, and if you could deport Michael Arden and remove his rhyming dictionary so I don't have to hear him sing or write more bad musicals.

Edit: Sorry Lizzie, didn't realize I had put an 's' at the end.
Well, if Quast crosses over and the borders close, that had better be a one-way thing, because if your evil plan did achieve fruition, I would SO fly out there to see 'The Secret Garden' and 'The Fix'! (Can we sneak Anthony Warlow and John Barrowman in as well, or is that too much to ask? Hmmm, I'd kinda miss 'Torchwood'... :/)
Michael Arden wouldn't be right for Che - even with the more boyish, less charismatic approach this production takes. The closest American contemporary I can think of in terms of looks/voice to Matt Rawle is Gavin Creel. He's not really who I would say is the ideal choice to play Che - but he's a close fit to Rawle.
wow, this might be the 1st time I'm not the one suggesting Bogardus! I love the guy, but as Peron, Quast seems a better fit. Especially when matched with Elena, the physical difference is really interesting (Quast is pretty big). I would love to have Bogardus play Archibald opposite Quast when that TSG revival happens.
You brits can keep Idina as long as you want, and we'll hold on to Ruthie for safe-keeping. As far as Warlow goes, there isn't enough talent in NY to make it a fair trade and there apparently isn't enough money in theatre to get him to leave Australia.

^ Nuh uh you can have her back after tomorrow...we've had the best out of her in the role and then we can get our new improved and far more talented and no so hyped Elphaba in.
Why don't we just pack up all the Aussies and head down under? Anthony Warlow + Philip Quast + Hugh Jackman = incentive enough for me! Idina and Ruthie can go wherever they like, I'm not so fussed. John Barrowman must pay visits between 'Torchwood' filming, and we can have some wonderful 'The Secret Garden' and 'The Fix' revival-age.
