And unlike Julia Roberts, Moore did not become a sensation by doing "so-so" acting in big budget fodder and by flashing a gorgeous smile. Moore got to the top of her game by working mostly in indie films and becoming one of the most impeccable actresses of our time. She chooses projects wisely and is a master ofher craft.
However, I still cringe at the Revlon commercial with her and Susan Sarandon applying powder at a maske-up table and acting giddy. At first I though I was hallucinating. Especially, with the political Sarandon. I never thought I'd see her applying lip liner and giggling. Then I thought, this small TV spot probably paid for their kids college education for a day's work. I would probably do it too.

I cant believe Bill, Julianne and David Hare. Shame its not opening of here in the UK first. I'll have to make another trip to New York!! Bill Nighy is one of our best actors. I hope this transfers to the UK with the same cast.
I remember Julianne Moore when she was on the soap opera "As the World Turns" back in the 80's I think it was. She played a dual role, a good twin and an evil twin. She was excellent even then at that early stage of her career.
Bill Nighy, LOL, what a character. I loved him in "Love Actually", and also in "FairyTale; a True Story"!
This show, "The Vertical Hour", should be well worth seeing.
BTW, the difference between Julianne Moore and Julia Roberts is one is an actress and one is a moviestar.

There is a curious paradox that no one can explain;
Who understands the secret of the reaping of the grain,
Who understands why spring is born out of winter's laboring pain,
Or why we all must die a bit before we grow again.

Also appearing on the same soap opera, "As the World Turns", either just before Julianne Moore or during the same time as Julianne Moore was.......Meg Ryan!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot wait to see this show. I remember when Playbill.com first announced that Julianne Moore was going to be in a Broadway show....I thought I was delusional. The woman is an amazing actress and I'm sure she'll do a great job in her transfer to the stage.
