For me, it's Meredith Braun. I understand she has a good voice, and she must be doing something right to get cast in show after show in London. Yet, I still can't stand listening to her voice. For whatever reason, it grates on my nerves, and I want to scratch my eyes out when I hear it. Do you feel that way about any ***respectable*** musical theater performer?
"People have their opinions and that doesn't mean that their opinions are wrong or right. I just take it with a grain of salt because opinions are like as*holes, everyone has one".

I could name many others, but I wouldn't consider them to be respected singers.
"If this is going to be a Christian nation that doesn't help the poor, either we have to pretend that Jesus was just as selfish as we are, or we've got to acknowledge that He commanded us to love the poor and serve the needy without condition and then admit that we just don't want to do it." -Stephen Colbert
So I was sitting in my cubicle today, and I realized, ever since I started working, every single day of my life has been worse than the day before it. So that means that every single day that you see me, that's on the worst day of my life.~Office Space
Don't get me wrong GC, I really do think she's an amazing singer but it hurts MY ears to listen to. Does that make sense? I just can't stand her vibratto, in all honesty.
"Sherie Scott has never sounded as good on cast recordings as she has in the theatre.
Really? I've always felt the opposite. It seems to me that her voice has always seemed incredibly thin on recordings, but much fuller when you hear her live"
I think you both are stating the same, yet you said you feel the opposite way?

"Who says you can't bend over backwards and eat bugs if you want to? I guess the bugs would probably say you can't do that that, but assuming that they are willing and consenting bugs, then there's no problem. Let's wig out eating bugs."

I think referring to them as "respected singers" in the first place might be controversial. :) I suppose an argument could be made for Fierstein, but certainly not Rosie O'Donnell.
