Most tourists who know anything about the show thinks its about a guy killing people and a woman making pies. Obviously thats not what it is but that just doesn't attract tourists, which is so unfortunate because it is a great show!
Frankly I can't imagine it running past December (it could never make through the winter months when the tourists aren't here).

I actually see Sweeney closing once Patti & Michael's contracts end(which is Thanksgiving week).
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
Poor Sweeney...it's a shame they have one of the more inhospitable rush ticket policies (at almost 40 bucks a ticket, which I can't afford right now). Otherwise I'd be there right away. Why are their rush tickets $10 more than most other rush tickets?

If Sweeney lowered their rush by ten bucks and expanded it to all performances it might provide a slight boost, which would be great, but I don't think it would be that significant.
Heh, but I'd expect these kinds of price-jacking shenanigans from the pennypinchers at Really Useful...
Anyway, I wish Sweeney the best but it's all over I'm afraid.

Eh, $35 becomes $36.25, and $36.25 is as good as $40 to a poor student such as myself.

I wasn't in love with Sweeney like a lot of people, but I still enjoyed it for what it was. That said, the last thing I would ever want to do during the ridiculously hot summer months is go inside and see some dark depressing show that commands full attention. I need something light and diverting, no matter how much talent is on the stage.
i can see what you are saying WheelsofaDream I always thought that this was more of a show that I would go to during the fall or winter. I know that sounds really stupid but maybe in the summer you're just in a mood for more light easy going stuff a la Wedding Singer. That being said though I would see this any season but it just seems more fall/winter...
RIP Natasha Richardson. ~You were a light on this earth ~
Ouch! A 14% drop for DRS! Hopefully they can recover this week.
