hah...this is going to sound bad, but the Light in the Piazza score almost wthout fail puts me to sleep if I want to nap. Its not that it's boring, it is just so soothing and rich. It is one of my new favourite scores and when I am wide awake I love listening to it too, but man can it put me to sleep quickly when I am in the mood.
I listen to everything before I go to sleep. It sounds so dorky, but I like to listen to a score and picture how I would direct the show and whatnot, so I listen to anything from Tick Tick Boom to Miss Saigon to Little Women to Company.
"Picture "The View," with the wisecracking, sympathetic sweethearts of that ABC television show replaced by a panel of embittered, suffering or enraged Arab women" -the Times review of Black Eyed
I used to fall asleep to Songs for a New World, but I loved the music so much that I would stay up to listen to my favorite songs. So now I just listen to the radio.
"Chicago is it's own incredible theater town right there smack down in the middle of the heartland. What a great city! I can see why Oprah likes to live there!" - Dee Hoty :-D
I have a few sleep mixes on my ipod, but whole CDs, I like The Last 5 Years, and John Mayer's Room For Squares album.
Idina: Somehow I got myself to the stage, came out at the end of the show, and I had some kind of closure.
Some guy: You looked great!
Idina: Thanks...I WAS SO HIGH!

The Last 5 Years is a good one because its relatively calm.
I listen to my ipod almost every night before I go to sleep. It has a very relaxing effect especially if I've had a rough day and the music that I listen to is familiar and comforting.
"Will the world remember you when you fall?" Les Miserables
I've been getting into the habit of listening to my iPod until I'm so out of it. I lay in bed and just drift off.
Last night I feel asleep listening to Piazza and that was lovely.

I usually cant fall asleep to cast recordings because I want to stay up to hear my favorite songs, but when I do, its usually Cats or Joesph

I usually get really obsesse with something and listen to it for a few weeks and then all the sudden get bored with it and go on to soemthign else. I used to fall asleep to the POTO movie soundtrack then Wicked then RENT then DRS then RENT movie soundtrack then L5Y (except then I would be crying as I went to sleep) then Spamalot (literally listened to it every night for 2 weeks) and now I'm back to DRS.
I find it's not as much one show that puts me to sleep, but rather someone's vocals. When i was in London a couple years ago, i had to listen to Colm Wilkinson singing something, just about anything to fall asleep. Nowadays when i'm agitated, i put on Phantom just for Michael Crawford.
because I have recently become unhealthily obsessed with See What I Wanna See's OCR I would have to say that...last night I fell asleep to Mary Testa singing "There Will Be a Miracle"...it was perfect!
