People have mentioned that the album is being done. By who? When? Did I misread or misconcieve information?

There's no formal announcement yet....people have asked Kelli and she said one is in development.

The rumor I've heard is that it's a double disc...1 being the cast recording, the other being Harry singing the songs in jazz....much like the rumored Lennon cd, with the cast on one side and the original tunes on the other....it's an ingenious idea, if it comes to fruition....

Well, the difference between this and Lennon is that Lennon was a God-awful piece of s*h*i*t and Pajama Games not only sounds like a damn good revival, but has a great score, so I would think the album would be made.

I wasn't comparing it to Lennon....I was talking about the album idea.

Way to over-react.

I know, I know. Being obnoxious old me, I had to bring up "Lennon."

With Harry Connick's name attached, I would suspect his label will want to record it since he has a huge fan base all over teh world. There should be no need for 2 discs, however, since the amount of music in PAJAMA GAME takes less than an hour (unless you want EVERY bar of dance music and every reprise, and if you want that ge teh 2 CD JAY set) so, there is still room for a half-dozen "bonus tracks" of Harry's own unique arrangements.

Cast albums are NOT "soundtracks."
Live theatre does not use a "soundtrack." If it did, it wouldn't be live theatre!

I host a weekly one-hour radio program featuring cast album selections as well as songs by cabaret, jazz and theatre artists. The program, FRONT ROW CENTRE is heard Sundays 9 to 10 am and also Saturdays from 8 to 9 am (eastern times) on www.proudfm.com
