Please. Tamia, and Vivian Green are very underrated, they DO NOT get a lot of radio play. You might want to check the charts. And Faith Evans is very underrated also.

And please, Monica can sing Fantasia away anyday.

Team Fantasia? Are you referring to posters who believe Fantasia would make a wonderful Effie? If so, then you can include me in that group. I think she would be outstanding!

Thank you Beyonce-Lover for the opportunity to critique Beyonce's offering of the Star-Spangled-Banner.

It was formula-matic and plastic, just like she is...and she just can't help it. I have heard mannequins with more soul. It is also the worst kind of attempted soul portrayal - fake. There is a stiffness in Beyonce's vocal runs that almost defies belief. The goal of these vocal runs that Beyonce attempts is extemporaneous sounds of controlled, yet free emotion. But the less than masterful execution of these careless runs as performed by B renders them completely useless(obtrusive even). Beyonce vocalizations are mechanical and staged...and trained ears can hear that right away. It is a flat out perversion...and further, it highlights Beyonce's ignorance as to the origins of such vocalizations and firmly places her mimicking in the category of sacrilege.

On these grounds I submit that Deanna be recast as Alicia Keys. Alicia is the greater musician, singing-actress, personality and exponentially more real; and as a bonus Alicia has just as much Barbie Doll appeal as mannequin B.

I just noticed something, the person who started yet another anti-fantasia message (ellenoshalom), has only been a member here for TWO whole days.

Again, why is it accepted when someone clearly joins to bash fantasia or post false, yet it is not accepted when a member who has been here longer wants to chime in for Fantasia? Why are you anti-fantasia people so against anyone who wants her in this role. IT is clear that is the case since you are welcoming new members in who don't like her.

It is clear that I was stalked for a while simply because I posted for fantasia as effie and I've been here longer. Yet, I was accused of joining to "promote" fantasia when I have yet to start any threads at all. The only people I have seen starting threads and opening accounts to promote are people who are against her as effie. They have clearly made accounts and started threads for them. I have yet to do that, I have just joined in on threads already created.

look at her post history and then yours and the rest of "Team Fantasias" you will see she posts in other topics not just about Dreamgirls

But I made one post in here and IMMEDIATELY someone was on my butt. I continued to post because someone was baiting me, I surely didn't come here to "promote" anyone. Had I not been spoken to I would not have returned to this thread.

I am not saying Ellen bashed fantasia but she did start a thread AGAINST fantasia as Effie. Had Ellen started a thread FOR fantasia as effie, she would have been stalked!

Why are you people joining just to stick up for Fantasia? If you haven't noticed this is a BROADWAY message board. We talk about musical theatre, and everything invovling it. You new members sticking up for Fantasia have NOT posted anything about Broadway.

if you don't have an interest in Broadway, point blank : get your ass off of her.

You haven't a clue why people are joining until they start a thread.

The point is people can join any public messageboard that they want. However, to pick out people and stalk them simply because you don't agree is wrong.

If you are accepting new members who want to "bash" then you need to accept members who are in support of.

This may be the broadway board but we are in a Fantasia thread thanks to your new member ellen (of which I have been a member longer).

No need for the rude tone. I am relatively new to the Broadway scene but I would like a chance to weigh in on this discussion, which is pretty contentious. Fantasia is someone I'd like to see in this role.

ljay889, see you are stalking a new member, you posted right on his/her butt simply because they are for fantasia as effie. Why didn't you ask the topic starter why she joined to discuss fantasia? You have proven my point, you are fine and dandy as long as they aren't in support of.

I will be staying, I just wanted to call you all out on these. I won't return to this thread, a waste of my time.

And yes, this topic was created to be mean-spirited. Ellen joined and must've did a search of Dreamgirls topics b/c he/she brought back old topics (Beyonce in Dreamgirls, and Does Effie have to be fat?). Ellen could've left his/her sentiments in the other Fantasia thread (Jamie Foxx endorses Fantasia), which I believe Ellen posted in anyway, but chose to create an entirely new thread, for What? This Fantasia and Effie topic is old. Folks need to stop bashing "Team Fantasia" and blast the people who keep creating posts about it. They are the ones that are really "promoting" her.

TheTruth, whipsnirt's post is precisely why Team Fantasia keeps getting bashed. It's not enough for Team Fantasia to say they hope Fantasia gets the role. Instead they insist she already has the role (when she doesn't) and they insult others to elevate Fantasia (and it backfires). There are a lot of talented people involved in this film and to insult them and insist they need Fantasia is distasteful and insane. This kind of crap from Team Fantasia has been going on for months and people are tiring of it. How many people are they going to alienate while they push for Fantasia? People will stop bashing Team Fantasia when THEY learn stop bashing every other talented performer involved or rumored to be involved with the movie.
