Well, I confess I have felt the urge to leave a board from time to time. I never really announced it on the board proper but I let friends know what I was thinking.
I have left boards where I didn’t feel comfortable or welcome. You can only post so many times and not get a response before you say the heck with it, I’ll move on.
I think you go through a "cooling off" period and/or you miss friends on the board. Sometimes you just need a break.
I've done the first one LOL I had been posting on a few message boards for a while, and I was very much welcomed by others who posted there. Then I seemed to slowly drift away from them. Oh I still go back from time to time, but there are really only 2 or 3 message boards that I visit daily (or some times many times a day). It just gets out of control when you have too many message boards to visit. I would end up not doing anything constructive with my days because I was constantly online.

I have to admit that two years ago I left the Chicago forum at Musicals.net for a while... there was too much bull**** going on with anonymous posters, cast members posting under assumed names and such things... I just couldn't be a part of it anymore. I *did* post that I was leaving the board and why, and subsequently returned when M.net was upgraded to it's current "registered user" board.

:::Enters from stage left:::: guilty as charged... I was thrown of ATC 2 years ago for being a shill for "love, janis" and have only ever lurked since then. I said many times i was leaving broadway.com's board and would always come back on a rainy day and came here...my current board husband took on my original name of mammamiasammy confusing the hell out of most posters... making them think he was me and i was im not sure..i just confused myself. anyway, that is my story and for the most part, i think i've been pretty good here.
I am new to online sites like this and that is why I am what you call a "sudden poster". Sorry if I invaded your little world of like minded ethnocentrics. Your accusations and insults are way out of line. Keep on with this tone and this board will peter out ..Some advice: Be more tolerant and welcoming instead of placing labels on people who simply have a different opinion. So long. I hope every show receives great notices and promotes Bway.

I confesss that I always want to leave the board for a myriad of reasons that might be insulting to people and I guess to myself, so I digress. I'm still here.
