They really will put anyone in Aida. According to Broadway.com, Michelle from Destiny's Child (the absolute most useless of the trio in the "Beyonce' show")is replacing Toni Braxton. Does anyone else think this is ridiculous? Here's "dream casting" for Voice...Why not make Jessica Simpson Amneris and Justin Timberlake Radames and then we can all go running for the hills. Let's thank the genius casting directors and Aida producers for yet another casting "coup".

Jessica and Justin...now that'd be a sight to see. Maybe bring in Britney too.

Although she does nothing in DC she really does have an awesome voice and is the most talented out of DC. Why is everyone here always so quick to tear people apart? Wait till the performence to judge! Im excited, I think shes really talented.

Al Dente...

What a BRILLIANT Idea! except I think BRANDY would be a better choice for AIDA!

As much as I hate Justin and Jessica...they'd kind of fit into AIDA.

I think she will do a nice job. Has anyone heard her solo work. It is very good I hear. And at least she is younger then Toni (more fit for the role)

Oh good grief, premature judgment, hide the children!

Give the woman a chance. Have you ever seen her act? I for one have not, nor have I heard her sing, though I do know she is a singer from a pop group. She may turn out to be quite good...then again, she could be god awful.

Kelly is great! This is such a suprise to hear this news. She is actually a very good singer. I cannot wait...she should be better than Toni.

We have a running joke where I work that Destiny's Child is made up of Beyonce, Kelly and The Other Girl. And we have imagined that Beyonce actually refers to her as, "Other Girl? Will you get my wig brush?" Good times.

Oh...it's Michelle? I don't know why I thought of Kelly. Michelle is another story. She is the "other one" besides Kelly and Beyonce, right? There have been soo many people in that group. We will have to wait and see how she does!

Well she must have some talent, besides, she is not "A Name" star. I hope she does well. They could have found a name to sell tix, Lordy knows they have in the past. Give the brush girl a chance, for pity's sake.

PEACE.

Yes..let's not condem her before she's had the chance to do her thing. After all, they could have got Melanie.

Don't you even DARE whisper Melanie Griffith's name anywhere near the producres or casting agents. My hair curls and my blood runs cold at the thought. re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: ok, it's now official...

Excuse me, I have to say that you should give the lady a chance. Michelle Williams is a very talented singer, and I think she will do well. At least I am hoping. Her solo material is very good, and actually, I would think she has more of a "Broadway" voice than Kelly and Beyonce. In fact, I seriously doubt that Beyonce would be able to handle an 8 performances a week schedule. I think Michelle sounds like she has the voice to be able to handle Aida. She is not a singer who riffs for hours on end, and she has a strong and powerful voice. Her voice has the same timbre and a tessitura reminiscent of Heather Headley, if you are familiar with it. Yes, she WILL do well. People just need to learn to refrain from pre-judging before they actually see the final product. I have faith in her, for whatever that's worth.

Cheers,
The Balladeer

Namo,

Your brilliant comment reminds me of a comment Miss Sandrah Bernhard made in her 'I'm Still Here, Dammit'. She was discussing what Mariah Carey would be like getting a pedicure:

'Dig that s*hit outta my big toe, b*tch!'

Good times indeed.

True enough. Michelle may do very well indeed.

At this point, anyone would be better than Toni.

Not to go off topic, and to be catty, but I just had to post what I am about to say....

I don't find Sandra Bernhard to be funny in the least. I do not get her appeal, and frankly, I find her to be very ugly, and her personality to be disgusting. Sorry. Had to say it. Please forgive me.

Cheers,

You're forgiven Ball... I'm not a huge fan of bitter Bernhart either. Now as for Michelle, I wasn't writing her off, I was expressing my annoyance with the powers that be (casting/producers). They don't *need* a Michelle Williams. The talent pool outside of their "oh she's a star, let's get her", blinders is far more vast and great. And you're right, she's most definitely NOT a household name, "Destiny's child" is, so why bother bringing her in? That was my point, not to chastise Michelle.
