The cast is great. If you've seen it in New York don't worry about being disappointed with a "lesser" cast as you sometimes experience in tours. This cast is truly top notch. Its worth it to see Hollis Resnik (Meers) alone. Sean Allen Krill as Graydon is great and Diana Karinaa as Miss Dorothy is also great. Darcie Roberts should see if she can land the spot on Broadway when Sutton (finally) leaves...she'd be a great addition to the current Broadway cast.

A girl I went to highschool with is in the ensemble, and Ihave heard from a few people who have gone to see her in it, that the show was wonderful and it received standing ovations each night...

I had a dream... I dreamed it for you June... It wasn't for me Herbie... And if it wasn't for me, then where would you be, Miss. Gypsy Rose Lee?

I would like to see it if it came to Baltimore but it has no plans now.

Starlight, I'm gonna have to disagree with you here. I really didn't think the tour cast was all that impressive. Sean Allan Krill was decent, but nothing too great. And the same for Hollis Resnik.

The only person I was really impressed with was Diana Kaarina. After seeing her play Eponine in Les Miz, I knew she was a talented girl, but now I'm even more impressed because it's such a different role. No belting, no street girl acting here. She was the funniest in the show. SO if you see the tour, she's the reason to go. The ensemble was also great. The sets and costumes are scaled down, which takes away fromt he entire effect a bit. It seems more like a cartoonish set, if that makes sense.

And of all the people I have seen or heard as Millie, I have to say Darcie is my least favorite, which is unfortunate. So would I suggest seeing the tour? If you have the money, sure, why not? Just keep in mind it's a poor representation of the wonderful production on Broadway right now.

I saw the Broadway production back in June a loved every minute of it. Sutton was great! She totally blew me away. Our community theatre is taking a bus trip to Cincinnati, OH to see Millie. I can only hope that it is almost as good as the Broadway. I've really pushed people to go see it. Speaking of sets, is the elevator still part of the show? I really don't know how they could take that part out.

I hear the elevator is not in the tour. Compared to the number in the movie, I thought the elevator in the stage version played like an afterthought anyway...

I just thought it was a neat part in the show. I don't really think you'd have to have it in there but would still add a little more to the show. I guess you can't have everything....

Well i'd have to travel 3 hours to see the show since no broadway shows come to my city where i live..

is there a significant number of songs from the movie that are in the show too? or did they cut many of them?

i love the movie and have heard the ending is not like the movie.. i'm interested to see that...

The show features two songs from the movie: the title song, and "Jimmy".

Most people who have seen the movie and see the show like the show better. I saw the movie for the first time when I was about 8 and I've always liked it...but the show definitely has better music in it, in my opinion.

As far as differing opinions on the cast, I've seen the show on Broadway twice and as I said, thought this cast was equally as good. And I haven't read a single bad review on the cast...if there is a bad review its because they didn't like the show period or the story or whatever...but they usually still comment on the strength of the cast. Personal opinions differ and I recognize this, but for the most part they have received great reviews.

All in all I found the tour to be a handsome mounting of a very mediocre show.

Darcie Roberts was suitably spunky, and the rest of the cast served well (with the exception of the Cavenaugh fella...what a turkey).

Apparently unlike most people, I do prefer the movie. Gimme gimme Bea Lillie + Carol Channing star quality over their respectively watered down stage counterparts any day (BTW...why does the stage version Muzzy character - supposedly this urban sophisticate - get stuck with such soul-less insipid numbers?).

I saw the show at Wolf Trap a few weeks ago. A month before, I saw the show on Broadway. I was not that impressed with the tour, but the person who I went with loved it, as did much of the audience, I think. I loved Diana as Miss Dorothy but Darcie was not my favorite Millie. However, I have to say that compared to a lot of tours I have seen, this one was one of the better ones.
