Does anyone here love this show as much as I do right now? The soundtrack is amazing. Denis O'Hare, you can practically see him grinning with every line he utters. Kudisch's voice is amazing, Kendra singing 'Something Just Broke, so moving! The whole cast/CD just blows me away everytime I listen to it. (Which has been all day everyday since I got it on Friday night!)
"Noah, someday we'll talk again. But there's things we'll never say. That sorrow deep inside you. It inside me, too. And it never go away. You be okay. You'll learn how to lose things..."
WELL children, gather around while I tell thee a story.
Picture it. Manhattan. 2004. A young man goes to see ASSASSINS, knowing full well that his future husband is in it. He sits there, loving the show, but also waiting anxiously for it to end so he can have face time with this man. The show ends and he goes to the stage door. The entire cast comes out. While all very nice, they aren't what he's looking for. Suddenly, and without warning, the door opens again. And there he was. And he was a BIG man, too. The definition of the word "MAN". He signed for everyone. Finally he turned around and the one person he hadn't signed for stared at him with such lust, he thought his eyes would melt. The young man handed him a playbill and it was signed with a glorious signature. Timidly, he asked the star for a picture with him. He gave the camera to a girl and turned facing it. Suddenly, and without warning, he felt a big strong arm wrap around him. His knees went week and he had to hold himself up. He wanted to turn around and jump in the man's arms, but restrained himself. He looked up and smiled and was given a smile back. A smile he would never forget.

Ooooh, I have to say, Marc is such a BIG man...it's very exciting!
I LOVE Assassins... every singe cast member was wonderful. I'd even go that far and say it was probably the best ensemble I've ever seen. I LOVE ASSASSINS!!!

It's my opinion anyway... It's not good enough to say that there were a few weak links and not mention any names. Tell us who they were and watch me defend them

Well I got to sit only a few feet away from the Great Kudisch here in Los Angeles for A Little Night Music....and got to watch him run around in his undies.
Ok, that's actually not a 'few weak links' but one (I want to have more names if you are refering to 'a few' ) but I thought she was great. She was hysterical and delivered her lines perfectly. Her voice could have been stronger but she ceertainly made up for it with her fantastci comic timing.
NEXT!

Assassins is great. I saw it the day before it closed and it was amazing.
David walked into the valley
With a stone clutched in his hand
He was only a boy
But he knew someone must take a stand
There will always be a valley
Always mountains one must scale
There will always be perilous waters
Which someone must sail

Okay, we've definately hit on my obsession... I just think Assassins (especially this production) was so amazing (it has its share of issues but overall it's just incredible). The cast was so perfect (IMO) - I think Mary Catherine made up for the singing through her exceptional character. And I was an aquantience of Joe Mantello's prior to Assassins, got to hang at a few Tech rehearsals and have to say that they are all very entertaining people... though for all those Marc lovers out there I don't have any funny stories about him. Sorry
