I'm headin' over tonite - gonna be great! What a line-up! I try to go to each one. I've met Todd Murray - saw him at Danny's - he's great.

I bought my ticket see you there.
I am going as i adore the Siegels but i am worried about Nancy singing. I hope she is better then she was in Never Gonna Dance.
I hope she and Noah dance and don't sing.
I wish Marc Kudisch and Brent Barrett were in this one. Updated On: 3/15/04 at 02:42 PM

Nancy didn't sing! LOL!

Oh, but their dances were so magical... they flow so well together. They were quite the funny little duo, too. So, the woman can't sing... she's funny and she can dance... she's got some talent! LOL

I would just like to say that the security at Town Hall sucks... I went to leave flowers at the stage door and they sent me to the dressing room. What if I had been some crazy whack-job with a gun? Ahh... that's craziness.

Yes the dancing was great. I have to say that i love Barbara and Scott Siegel they are wonderful people. The show last night though was not magical like his others. I think it was the music.
The two stand out numbers were from Porgy and Bess and the numbers were breathtaking although the rest of the show last night seemed to go on forever and the material weak.
Mr Sills was really terrible.
I have seen three other concerts in the series and all were magical but maybe it was because the music in the other years were more interesting. Last night nearly put me to sleep.
I was very impressed with Karen Akers and Barbara Walsh.
It would have been a better show with Brent replacing Mr Sills who is not a gifted singer.
My favorite concert was Broadway in 1960- A MAGICAL CONCERT!
Scott said that all the shows in 1935 lost money it was the depression well i think the material was the main reason. Other then Porgy and Bess the music in 1935 was not that memorable.
It was still a very enjoyable evening. Updated On: 3/16/04 at 10:48 AM

I agree... I would have MUCH rather heard Brent in those numbers than Sills.

I actually love how they showcased Emily's upper range in most of her numbers... it was nice change. The quality of her voice seriously put the rest of the females to shame... though I really DID enjoy Barbara Walsh... great performer.

The first act of the show was very mundane. I was nearly put to sleep. There wasn't enough variety and it dragged along. The talent in the show (aside from Sills... I was FAR from impressed by him) was incredible and the dancing added a nice new element, yet it still needed more variety.

That aside, I really enjoyed it. Though, I've been a big fan of the period since I was a little girl... so to me it was very nostalgic.

How was it. I wanted to go so bad but my parents wouldn't bring. How was Noah Racey? Did he dance? (*drools*) Also did Michael Cavanaugh do anything? Lol does anyone have pictures of this?

Did you know that Barbara is a Fordidden Broadway alumnus?
She was one of the best!
She performed at the Gerard interview at Seth's Chatterbox last month. She is a very talented performer.

Corine2 - Doug Sills is not a gifted singer? Maybe he was wrong for the material in that particular show, but he was amazing in Pimpernel.

I have to disagree with you Corine2. I thought he was charming last night.

I really enjoyed the show last night! Didn't think Doug Sills was so bad - I liked him. I thought he sounded better off mic - and I loved the vaudevlle number he did with Todd Murray!

Other then Porgy and Bess the music in 1935 was not that memorable.

My Romance

Just One of Those Things

Not memorable?

I was not blown away by Sills last night. The other men had better voices.
I have seen many of the Siegels concerts i have enjoyed all of them but this one was my least favorite.
Compare Sills to Marc Kudisch, Brent Barrett they have stronger voices. I guess i was spoiled with the other men in the concerts. Updated On: 3/16/04 at 07:33 PM

But aside from not liking Sills' performances, are you saying the songs from 1935 (aside from Porgy and Bess) aren't memorable?

Look Michael:
I found some of the other material dull. I am not sure if it was the material or the performances.
I LOVED PORGY AND BESS. Loved it! Karen Akers is always incredible. Barbara Walsh is one of my favorite performers of all time. The concert last night had some wonderful moments but it did not move me like the others.
Did you see Broadway in the year 1960? Every song was magical.
The passion. Brent and Marc off mike brought tears to my eyes.

I was also very impressed with Nancy and Noah dancing. They did a great job. She is a fantastic dancer and should stick with dancing. Updated On: 3/17/04 at 01:02 AM
