Now that the Sweeney Todd rush has been established for a little while, how has it been? What kinds of seats have people gotten from it? Me and my roommate are likely going to rush this upcoming Sunday and wondering what to expect. Thanks!

I got a SRO ticket for Sunday's performance and as soon as the box office open, everyone in line was told that no rush tickets would be sold.

A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.

Good to know! Did they announce this when the box office opened or during your wait in line? And how is standing room for this show?

A couple people have posted photos of their rush seats on Reddit, they look to often be very good seatsZ

I am big. It’s the REVIVALS that got small.

As soon as the box office opened at noon.

Seconding the above -- any updates on how in-person rush has been going? and any cancellation line stories recently?

I rushed a couple Saturday's ago and showed up around 9:15am, was around 30th in line and thought "there's no way" but waited anyway. The security guard was announcing that they had run out for the evening performance by the time I reached the box office (he was having a good time, I got a kick out of it). To my surprise, I got a rush ticket for the matinee as did the couple behind me and I recognized some people at the performance who were even further back in line... we were all in the mezz. I was given rear mezz row C towards the center. Was up there, but not bad!

The big black box that covers the lighting rig is such an eye sore for folks in the mezz. I remember thinking the same thing when sitting up there for Addams Family. Just sayin.

Rushed Sweeny Todd on 10/14/23 (Sat.), looking for matinee seats.  Arrived at 7:50, 17 people in line, 8:00 18 people, 9:00 38 people, 9:35 43 people, and 10:00 52 people.  First person arrived at 6:30.  At 10:05, before a single ticket was sold, a staff person from the theater came out and stated that there were no Rush tickets or standing room tickets for the 2:00 show, and no standing room and only a hand full of single seat (less than eight) Rush tickets for the 8:00 show were available.  Needless to say, everyone in line was very disappointed. The staff person stated that it wasn't the box office that made this decision but likely the show/theater managers made this call.  I was pretty discouraged, so we left the theater and got an early lunch (pastrami on rye, very tasty).  At 12:50, for kicks and giggles, I said to my wife I'm going to check the box office again to see if any last minute Rush/Standing Room tickets had become available.  I got to the box office and asked what, if anything, they may have.  Right away, she stated that there were standing room tickets available for the 2:00 show! I was so excited and texted my wife to see if she was fine with standing room.  Of course she said yes, and I snapped up those tickets!  Half a loaf is better than no loaf, LOL.  The tickets were $40 each.  Our standing area was at the back of the center orchestra, to the right of the soundboard.  By the time the show started, there appeared to only be, including us, seven people that had standing room.  Before the show started, we asked the usher that if by intermission there were seats that were not occupied, could we sit in them for the 2nd act.  She said absolutely no problem.  We ended up sitting in row WW on the right side of the theater for the 2nd act.  The whole row was completely empty.  The show was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves.  So what started as a damp, rainy, disappointing morning, turned into a wonderful afternoon of theater.  So for future rushers, be aware that there is a possibility that if your looking to Rush weekend shows, there may not be any tickets available right from the get-go.  Hopefully, this was a rare exception, not the rule.  Good luck!

Has anyone tried this recently? Curious how early people show up on weekends, whether they still only sell a few rush seats (if any at all), etc.

I keep striking out on lotto, and wondering whether it's even worth attempting rush or if I should just bite the bullet and buy full price.

Thank you!

I was told they're not really supposed to do it but I was sold a rush seat 30 minutes before curtain yesterday. It was a good mezz seat.
