Has anyone tried and/or successfully bought a rush ticket for CSC's A MAN OF NO IMPORTANCE? If so, how busy was it? How difficult is it to get a seat?

I actually saw it on TodayTix--which i detest and never use--and on a whim entered the lottery yesterday afternoon. I won, but was traveling today and missed the notification.

The TodayTix lottery and the rush tickets OP is asking about are different things. A Man of No Importance offers both.

I entered on 10/29 and found out I won at 3:42 p.m. ET, with only 15 minutes to purchase my tickets, so I am assuming I was on the standby list, considering they start notifying winners between 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. ET. I entered today assuming my chances would be higher on a Halloween weekend, and I was pleasantly surprised to be right! My seat was Sec 100 Row A Seat 110 (front row!!) for $15. Doesn't get better than that!

Side note: Jim Parsons and the cast were excellent!

Wait, so there is a rush and a lottery? Where can one rush?

Yes, there is both a lottery on TodayTix and rush at the box office. CSC's rush tickets are basically the same as a standby line, where they sell the remaining tickets for $30 (or $20 for students) one hour before showtime.

Rush Tickets

Subject to availability, $30 rush tickets are available in person at the box office one hour prior to curtain. Limit 1 ticket per person.

Student Tickets

Subject to availability, $20 student rush tickets are available in person at the box office one hour prior to curtain. Limit 1 ticket per person with valid student ID (required).

That's why the original poster was asking how busy it is.

My wife and I rushed the show tonight - the box office only opens one hour before the show. Tonight's (Thursday) show was at 7pm, so it opened at 6. We got in line at 5:30pm and there were five people ahead of us. Two more showed up before it opened. We all got a ticket and the show ended up selling out because of our line.

Our seats were the unsold disability seating on the far end of section 300. But it wasn't partial view - we saw absolutely everything. $30 for this is a bargain. And the show is outstanding. Well worth rushing - but I doubt weekend performances will have as many tickets as there were tonight. CSC is a small theatre and box office says it's selling out almost every show.

Thank you for sharing. That's good info to have, and I'm glad you both got in and enjoyed the show.
