My friend went yesterday a little after noon and got two tickets, but when we got there, I went up to standby 10 minutes before the show and got two seats that were better than hers.
Anyone have any experience getting the vouchers in the boroughs? I’m gonna try in Queens this week and was wondering what to expect/if I need to get there early, etc.
This sounds like a rehash of TWELFTH NIGHT from a few years ago... My friend and I walked out of that one about halfway through (there was no intermission). Easily one of the worst things I have ever seen.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "
Yeah, this was a real mixed bag for me. I found the music to be fairly pedestrian, wishing they’d simply continue the scene rather than do the song. Only a handful of actors had a real grasp of the language; I particularly enjoyed Rebecca Naomi Jones as Ganymede. Far too many didn’t seem to know what they were saying or how to convey it (speaking of the professional actor only). However, by the end, it found it hard to be too dismayed because the community members seemed to be having a joyful time.
They have been posting in Twitter that tickets have been available late for midweek shows recently. Looks like Saturday sold out earlier and they advised trying the standby line. As about always the show gets more demand on good weather weekends late in the run. But it evolves and is not totally predictable, you will be on a midweek but late in the run and after the official opening on 8/30.
