Okay, I'm obviously biased. The first two seasons of SEX EDUCATION, the Brit series set in a sex-obsessed secondary school starring Asa Butterfield and Gillian Anderson, got us through the first half of the epidemic back in 2020. They just released season three and it's taking all our strength not to succumb and binge all eight episodes in a go. Just the best writing, casting, use of music, in a series since who knows when. Hysterical and heartbreaking and super-sexy and super-diverse (they just introduced a black non-binary character this season).
I'm certain no-one I know ever had this much sex in high school, but who cares? It's brilliant to pretend we could have... Any other fans out there?
Love this show. Was thrilled to see that the third season was out. That reminds me I have to see who plays the new head teacher. I know her from some other show but can't place it and it's driving me nuts.
Episode three tonight!
Art has a double face, of expression and illusion.

I love this show. Not only is it incredibly well-written, committed to diversity and equity, and well-acted, but I'm always blown away from the presentation. The show makes use of a lot of tracking shots through the halls of the school that effortlessly glides between various characters. It's not overly flashy, but you can see an immense amount of effort went into planning the blocking and camera work.
^ Absolutely agree. The direction and camera work always finds new startling ways to look at these characters' worlds. I just love all those drone shots sailing over the Trailer Park, or Otis' house, or the walkup to the school. Also want to give a shout out to the INTENSE choices for art direction/ set decoration in home after home here. Same can be said for the brilliant costume design choices.
We've now finished Episode 7 and are hanging in bittersweet anticipation of the watching the final episode tonight. I've gotta say that Episode 5 (the France field trip) was a magnificent mid-season peak for all the stories we care about. Episodes 6 and 7 have taken some swerves that have pushed our buttons a bit (no spoilers, I promise). They've now got a bit of a mess on their hands that I really hope the final episode can untangle... Short of that, I will be a VERY anxious fan until they confirm that yes, there WILL be a season 4.
Well episode #8 was everything we’ve come to expect in the show. Incredibly empathetic to every single character’s storyline. Some get good news, many don’t. I just fear that if they wait too long to film a 4th season, most of the cast will have aged far out of secondary school. (Shades of Evan Hansen…)
Hands down my favorite TV series (at least until SUCCESSION returns next month.)
Did not see this one but can recommend one that just dropped 9/24.. It is called Midnight Mass.
It is a 7 part limited series. It is about a lone priest that comes to a small fishing island .Another main character is a guy who returns to the island after a 4 year stretch in prison for vehicular homicide that killed a young woman. It starts slowly but little by little it ramps up. Watched 6 episodes last night and this morning. .Some totally unexpected **** pops up only to be upped in the next episode . The priest starts up as a small role but grows and grows.
