My more humorous response? The stills of various GOP members I've seen friends post are meme worthy. Cruz being #1 obviously.

Less humorous response. It's telling what the GOP reacted to and what they didn't. I was hoping Romney could at least get behind many of these ideas, but he's shown himself to be nothing but a flip flopper. I loved this address, but that's probably because the past four years have been so awful. CBS made a great point of saying a lot of this agenda wouldn't be on the table if it weren't for the pandemic. Biden campaigned on "return to normalcy" and while that idea can't be understated in the sense of a return to democratic/political norms, which is a HUGE necessity after flirting with fascism, CBS was right on that point. Biden would just be 'more of the same' otherwise. His statements of certain bipartisan votes over the past year was misleading and at times, untrue, but if that's worst untruthful thing he said? I'll take it.

And can we talk about Tim Scott's rebuttal for a sec?? HOLY HELL...how he can't see that he's being used as nothing but a 'token black Republican' is beyond me. I don't want to fall into 'monolith' blanket statements but people like Scott and Candace Owens confuse me like crazy. Why is the GOP rhetoric almost nothing but  "The left isn't being truthful", a Tucker Carlson style "What's going here? Well I"LL tell you" as if they have a monopoly on truth? I will not claim Dems to have a monopoly either, but has anyone ever heard THEM smear the entire other side of the aisle? I've seen the calling out of certain individuals who are undemocratic, but very rarely the entire party.

How can Scott claim he's known discrimination and racial profiling and yet be right wing, say the US isn't racist at it's core, continue to fall back onto how the economy was pre-covid, and heaven knows what other "fallback" claims? Major from CBS pointed this out as well, that Scott and Biden talked about the same topics, but came to very different conclusions. Scott did almost nothing but tout pre-covid issues and how good things were when anyone with a brain know it wasn't...Biden did this as well, but what did he do that the GOP still refuses to do? Acknowledge the cracks in our sociopolitical system that the pandemic revealed and a way to move forward with that in mind. One again proving that the right wing is nothing but the wing of status quo at all almost all costs.

I didn't intend to write all this but man I guess I'm just angry this morning.
