Excited to see JCM score this kind of role, but I'm surprised they're actually going through with this project. I thought the whole "who would play Joe and Carole in the Tiger King movie/show?" thing was just a fun game for a country stuck in quarantine, and looking for something to obsess over together. I'll be curious to see if this actually manages to catch on, or if it will just feel like a desperate attempt to capitalize on an expired fad.
Well, even before Tiger King debuted, this limited series based on the original podcast was already in development. The Kate McKinnon casting announcement came just 4 days after it premiered on Netflix, so it's safe to say that, when the project began, they had no idea how successful the documentary would be.
I am thrilled to see JCM and Kate work their magic on this. I am sure it will be a good time. Both are incredible talents with so much creativity.
That being said Joe and Carole are some of the most foul and abusive human beings I have ever witnessed. They don’t deserve any more fame. I truly wish they would just fade into obscurity. I hope this is more docudrama than camp because these people don’t deserve to be softened or made endearing. They are cruel to animals and vulnerable people. It’s bad enough they have been morphed into silly caricatures.
"The sexual energy between the mother and son really concerns me!"-random woman behind me at Next to Normal
"I want to meet him after and bang him!"-random woman who exposed her breasts at Rock of Ages, referring to James Carpinello
I never saw the series because why would I want to see white trash abuse animals for hours? Anyway, if anyone can morph into a gross, white trash, abusive, horror of a human being it's certainly JCM. What a talent. ,
