I hope they bring this back, if not, they should at least follow the come from away route and film it for future release.

So... what's this about a proshot?

This came up as a fan question. I read Rachel's response as, "Yeah, that would be cool in theory if we got the funding and the go-ahead from the producers", rather than any kind of confirmation or announcement of plans.

I love Hadestown and want more pro-shots to be available in general, but I worry that the intimate atmosphere of the show wouldn't translate, even to a pro-shot. That being said, I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

Thank you! I was wondering about the context.

Why would this not come back?

Not saying that it won't come back, but I think realistically even had the pandemic not happened, it probably only had a year or two left before it would have closed anyway.  (Yes, it has its ardent fans, but it's not a show tourists are going to be flocking to for years, especially with it touring to their towns.  So like Band's Visit, which also pretty much sold out most of its first year or so, I think its sales would have started to dwindle and within a year or two have closed).  So it wouldn't shock me if they just decided to go ahead and close and focus on tours, regional productions, etc. (especially if the original cast all moves on).
