Do we know how long he's likely to stay or is it just 'watch this space'? I'll be in New York in a few months and would love to see him. (although happy with whoever)
Cervantes stayed with the Chicago company for its entire run (three years plus a few months). He and his wife bought a home in Chicago during that time. I wonder if his intention is to continue living in Chicago or move back to New York permanently, but I expect that decision would influence how long he decides to remain with the Broadway company. I wouldn't be surprised if he put in at least a year.
I may be in the minority, but Lin is my gold standard as Hamilton. He was my first Hamilton (I saw it in November 2015 when the only OBC member who was out was Jonathan Groff - filming HBO’s Looking finale movie - so I got Andrew Rannells, not exactly chopped liver). Our marked-up hotel concierge tix to see it were $375.00 each (originally $60) for last row of rear mezzanine. Lin’s performance touched me from there, even though I was in near constant pain from the zero legroom, my long legs, and my bad knees. I think I like Cervantes so much because he evokes Lin’s performance so much for me while still making the role his own.
